Years of Aviation Accidents
#1
https://i.imgur.com/pO9oked.jpeg  Aviation accidents - 269 in the USA so far for 2025. 49 were fatal. The fatalities are trending below to about the same for the past 10 years.

To be honest I am surprised they have remained as high as they have since 2010 as the cost of owning and flying a general aviation aircraft started getting out of hand for most people.

Interesting, from what I heard on youtube it was much higher than what the reports suggests for the start of the year. There was allot fear generated at the start of the year.

Some of the accident also appeared nefarious.

Some facts that everyone should know.

Automobiles and aircraft have exactly the same rate of accidents per average hours of vehicle operation. They are not safer than driving, just less aircraft.

Almost all crashes are caused by hitting the ground. Not being funny. Vertically the first 1000 feet after takeoff and last 1000 feet when landing are the most dangerous. More things to go wrong and less time to react. The closer to the ground, the faster you seem to be moving.

The cost of the aircraft has nothing to do with the ability of the pilot, the maintenance record, or other factors of aircraft accidents.

The news always covers how tragic the latest accident is. If people were not willing to take the risk of flying, that would not happen. They are trusting a machine and operator that can fail from the slightest thing going wrong and then it can fall from the sky with nothing anyone can do about it.

Think about these facts when flying.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?
