Why are Fish antibiotics getting scarce?
I can usually make do with oregano oil and garlic, etc, but sometimes nothing beats a pharmaceutical product, occasionally
Prices are up, and sources are closing with banners because of regulatory issues.

The feds cracked down and require a script now so you have to take your 100 gallon tank to the vet.

Im not seeing that backed up anywhere?
under "fish antibiotic regulation change"
Oh well, doesn't matter, pretty sure it's better to use preventative herbs and supplements, definitely cheaper.

I did find this thing about how "Fish" anti-biotics same as human?
(it seems unlikely, since the authors refused to make disclosure
about their 'activist' relationships.)
or this...
Fish Antibiotic Diversion
Seems odd doesn't it...the insurance industry charging people so much
more for something that obviously costs so much less.
Has the change of regime opened this to inquiry... possible interdiction?
Some kind of "lock down" situation? But still, what "chief" serves the reality of medication...
and the exploitation of a (usually) tragic circumstance?
I'd love to fantasize about the notion... good triumphing over evil and all that...
But there is another possibility...
I's not about regulations, or sources... it very well might be
That it's about the middlemen... the 'war' between the brokers...
The relationships between those controlling the movement of the product.
It happens.
Just opining here folks...

Hey mate,
Do you have a large aquarium?
If you don't, I am sure you are aware you can get the same immune boosting if you really need it, from daily quercetin with zinc.
And the best immune booster is daily exercise, even just a walk for an hour a day and some sunshine.
Just normal natural stuff...
Best to you :)

Best to you :) Yes, we do...occasionally our fish get a bad toothache
I do take zinc actually, 30mgs most days unless I forget, along with the oregano/black seed oil, garlic, honey, vitamin C, magnesium, etc, for an immunity boost, pretty much since COVID.

Like I mentioned a bit , I hope you know that zinc does nothing but get pissed out unless you take quercetin to let it break the cell barrier and be absorbed.
best to you.

Unfortunately, Im on a budget, there are only so many daily supplements I can buy.... quercetin is in plenty of the foods we eat regularly though
Taking zinc and quercetin together is often suggested because they may work synergistically to support immune health. Quercetin, a flavonoid found in foods like onions and apples, acts as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. It may also enhance zinc absorption by acting as a zinc ionophore, helping transport zinc into cells where it can inhibit viral replication, based on some in vitro studies.Key Points: - Potential Benefits: Combining zinc (10-30 mg/day, depending on form and needs) with quercetin (250-500 mg/day) may boost immune function, particularly during colds or flu, though human clinical trials are limited.
- Safety: Both are generally safe at recommended doses. Zinc can cause nausea or digestive issues if taken on an empty stomach or in excess (>40 mg/day long-term). Quercetin may interact with certain medications (e.g., antibiotics like quinolones or cyclosporine).
- How to Take: Take with food to minimize stomach upset. Quercetin is fat-soluble, so pairing it with a meal containing healthy fats may improve absorption.
- Evidence: While promising, most data comes from lab studies or anecdotal use. Robust clinical evidence in humans is lacking, so results may vary.

You know why. Fish antibiotics are getting scarce because preppers/survivalists have been buying them up as a hedge against TEOTWAWKI. People in that mindset are stocking up on things that might, maybe, just maybe, keep them and theirs alive just a little bit longer when TSHTF.

Antibiotics work much the same for fish as mammals. Antibiotics are parsed for specific ailments. If you choose the wrong one, oh well. Better than nothing.
