It is hilarious that the two capitalist vote-sweepers that were courted to anchor the libertarian swing vote are now being relegated to the New Pretend Department of Legislatively Unempowered Mollification, and fanbois are cheering that as if it's a good thing for them, and not Trump taking off his running shoes and throwing them in the trash. Let's watch the disillusionment unfold, if it ever does.

I also wonder how long Musk was sitting on that DOGE acronym. I suppose that's his idea of a "win".

It will be semi-real. They'll make recommendations, and Trump will scale back things that overregulate capitalism, mandate green energy/oppose petroleum, acknowledge anthropogenesis, fund Planned Parenthood, reassign your gender, and support affirmative action. The green and woke is getting axed. Regulatory entities reduced.

There is fear he'll try to cut all the environmental, HHS, immigration, and high speed rail funding for California. Which is why our sociopathic governor is asking America's outgoing Commander In Potato for extra funding to be expedited while there's still time. This "Trump proofing" thing attempts to make any eventual retaliation against our democratic state government (and its evil leftist ways) harder to do. With the assumption being he plans to isolate the state to save it from itself.

In any case 2028 posturing has already begun.

For every Vivek getting a token "avatar tag" he's considering Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence, an ACTUAL position. So at least there's a place for moderate and "same old story" somewhere. I'd rather see her higher up his totem pole, like Secretary of State, but at least she's gonna be something. And RFK Jr. as Secretary of HHS is just hilarious. Only other funny one for him is Department of Interior, but putting the anti-vaccination proponent in charge if the CDC is gold.

And that's kinda what scares me, cabinet positions aren't suppose to be ironic.

You need to be one to be an effective leader. They are all ubermenchen having long strolled down the mountain and learned how to use all the monkeys to exalt their master will with slave ideology.

And that's totally nihilist and depressing about people. Virtue is something to signal, and will has a small inner circle and capacity for empathy.

So, I agree with you to an extent. However, it’s my opinion that the good ones are only mere narcissists. The definition between the good and bad ones comes down to whether they are simply narcissists — over full blown sociopaths.

UPDATE:

We shouldn’t let the government spend money on programs that have expired. Yet that’s exactly what happens today: half a *trillion* dollars of taxpayer funds ($516 B+) goes each year to programs which Congress has allowed to expire. There are 1,200+ programs that are no longer authorized but still receive appropriations. This is totally nuts. We can & should save hundreds of billions each year by defunding government programs that Congress no longer authorizes. We’ll challenge any politician who disagrees to defend the other side.
