This was a popular movie in the early seventies, based on a true story about a new sheriff in McNairy TN which at the time had organized crime. The sheriff tried to clean up the county but was ambushed and his wife was killed and he was seriously wounded.
The sheriff’s name was Buford Pusser. Recently there’s reported to be some new evidence that he might have killed his wife. Her body was exhumed and forensic tests were done.
I’m not sure why this is being investigated unless some long lost relative is wanting some fame and to make a few bucks??

McNairy County is creepy and has been for over 2 centuries. Search the Bell Witch. It’s supposedly where the idea for The Blair Witch Project came from.
I won’t post a link. If anyone has spiritual issues with the occult, please don’t search. I did and just reading about it gave me nightmares for a couple of nights.
I know a few people who have been to McNairy and they got a weird vibe just driving through.
