Video attachments?

Hello apologies if this has been asked, but is there a way to upload mp4 videos and put them in posts? I tried both the "Upload" tab, which says it only supports certain image types, and adding as an attachment in a new post, which say that type of file isn't allowed. They're not huge files, less than 10MB each.

It would be good to have a way to archive video snippets, rather than embedding them as links to an external video or file storage site, perhaps? Or would that just create more trouble than it's worth? Browsing older threads at other forums has become an amusing (for some measure of amusement) wasteland of deleted videos, and it might be nice to have a way to avoid that here.

Sorry, Budgie, unfortunately, that is not possible in the short-term development of D.I.

As theshadowknows mentioned in another thread, work is being done to provide ‘User galleries’. Whether video uploads will be allowed depends on many factors, both resource-wise and technical; embedding video requires more coding/plugins than with images. Also, security is a top priority, so that has to be considered, too.

So, all we can do is ‘watch this space’ and grow together with the forum that has been in constant evolution since its birth.
