It's so sad that our representatives chose them over us... how did that happen, you may ask?... it wasn't an "accident"... it was engineered.
Well I think I agree with you that corporatization is entrenched and significant systemic changes will continue to be resisted. But I do think we'll see a tone change away from "trust the science" at least and perhaps some superficial addressing of the worst of the abuses as Republicans see things. This tracks with the Republican-vs-Democrat differences in a new Pew poll released Monday:
