The Rise of Nones
#1
Latest study on religion in America shows less and less people subscribing to religion or faith.

Religion/faith can be a good thing.  And it can be a bad thing.   Either way, it's decreasing in America.

New Data Show Decline of Faith or Religion in Americans

Quote:The rise of the religious “nones” is continuing, according to new data, with the percentage of Americans who consider religion “very important” to their lives now dipping below 50%.

Newly published data from Gallup found that, in 2025, the share of U.S. adults who identified as “nones” — those with no religious affiliation at all — reached a record high of 24%, up from 21% and 22% the previous four years. Additionally, 28% said religion is “not very important” in their lives.

The just-released study showed less than half (47%) of American adults say religion is “very important” to their lives, while another 25% described it as “fairly important” to them.

That depends on how you look at it and what do they mean by "religious".

I don't subscribe to any particular religion, don't go to church and don't read the Bible, so they may label me as "None". Morals have certainly changed since I was a young man, so maybe that has something to do with it. People do things now that we would have never thought about doing because we just weren't raised that way.

I actually do blame the internet for that.

As belief in God has nothing to do with organized religion other then they claim to be following him, none seems to be the best answer. That is if asking which organized religion you belong to.

Fox News keeps bringing up the increasing number of young Christians in the collages.  And yet I find articles on how Christians are the most oppressed of the major religions.

All organized religions are just efforts by some people to control the masses of people.

I do believe but not through any organized religion.
I know too much and question everything.

I think this is old-fashioned marketing techniques (polls/stats) to create attention.

In 15 minutes I could speak with 30 people and report 'officially' that their faith is growing or failing...
depending on my mood.

Research regarding faith-labeling always leads here... always...

I find it most interesting that the 'marketeering' poison is so deeply embedded in faith communications that no one actually talks about being committed to a faith anymore... just how it "looks" to a statistician.  How it registers to a bean-counter, what the 'appearance' is....

I would think, assuming you speak for a Christian organization, that you embrace and prefer the topic of Christ... to ... you know... 'spread the news...'

Instead they talk about everything but.

Also... just in passing... my not wanting to discuss my faith with a pollster does not necessarily mean I have no faith... only that 'they' are not invited to 'measure and report' it as an element of entertainment news.

Just to offer a foil to the poll.... what is the difference between not 'declaring' a faith for a poll...' and not having faith at all?  If I say I'm not white... does that mean I am minority?  If I refuse to offer my ethnicity... do I stop existing?  If I worship, but not the God of Abraham, am I a pagan, a witch-doctor...?

These nuggets of entertainment news are not to inform... they are to influence only.

Polls are for elites to excuse their ignorance of reality.  For the uninformed to pretend they now know... something they can legally 'cite as factual.'

It is the goal of the false one.

The faster many walk away from religious beliefs in FATHER, the easier the prey they become spiritually, metaphysically.

This is why some humans (most are probably Hylics) appear to worship humans now who are in powerful positions.
