National Park Disappearances

National Park Disappearances

This makes for some very intriguing content, and there's plenty of it. I've been going back to this off and on for years now.

Some of it can be chalked up to foul play, unfortunate accidents(e.g. fatal falls), people getting lost and succumbing to the elements, and then there's all the rest which remains somewhat of an enigma.

Sometimes people will shed their clothes for no apparent reason, hypothermia? Other times a person, deceased or otherwise, will be found in an area that had already been searched multiple times.

Some believe this may be a part of the alien abduction phenomenon due to very unusual unexplained circumstances - often times people just vanish without a trace never to be seen again.

I've watched so many of these and honestly I don't recall which ones were the best, but the Missing 411 was mentioned here recently, and this might even be the one that also contains a segment about transparent entities - the description of the sounds was brief but quite eerie:

Missing 411

And sometimes I put one of these long story-type vids on to listen to while I'm going to sleep:

Three Hour 100 Case Marathon

Intriguing stuff to be sure.

A lot of Bigfoot researchers also think that they have something to do with the disappearances as well. Either way, there are an amazing amount of people that go missing in the parks.

I’m sure a lot are accidental, maybe some are serial killer fodder, who knows?

But definitely intriguing.

Given the number of videos out there of People Doing Stupid Things in National Parks, I'm going to put it down to "natural causes", including "Natural Stupidity."

Seriously.  People go to the wilderness and don't practice safe camping or safe hiking.  It's easy to die.

Me too mate and some of the cases (when one actually looks into them) are very freaky indeed and go back decades and decades - definitely some extremely curious repeated aspects although I do agree with certain criticisms levelled at Paulides work.

Don't know if you've come across the analytical research of journalist Thomas Springs but thought he raised some rather interesting points below about 'patterns' in the missing persons data.

Quote:Thomas Spriggs has written a book that looks for patterns in people missing in the wilderness, starting with the data that David Paulides accumulated, and then branching off from there. There may very well be a piece of the puzzle here...

Cheers.

I'd perhaps consider actually looking into the subject before flippantly dismissing it.

Hundreds and hundreds (and hundreds) of extremely freaky aspects involved in these cases such as professional tracking/cadaver dogs being unable to pick up a scent; bodies being found days later in repeatedly searched areas; children who disappear right under the noses of adults being found in way out remote areas etc.

There are undeniably some incredibly mysterious missing people cases in national parks (some involving children) so maybe ease up on the 'they are all stupid' kneejerk reaction.

I too have been following the Missing 411, it's quite interesting.

What gets me is the parks unwillingness to be open about it almost as if they have something to hide.  Not to mention how many of these people have been found in areas searched with a fine toothed comb.  The add in the weirdness of their clothes being found nicely folded and put away on top of a rock (in one example).  It's extremely odd.

While I'm sure a few are foul play and accidents, there are some that defy logic it would seem.
And I'm gone.... Like a crack in the past....
