Note that Poland is majorly tough on illegals, and has closed its borders.
They have been flooded with more than 3 million Ukrainians, according to a Polish man I know here.  And these Ukrainians were very generously given free benefits these last 3 years.  Now the Polish government is demanding that they all find employment and pay taxes - Well, the Ukrainians are furious, feeling they should be allowed to live free, on the Polish people.
To add to this nonsense, they are also turning away people from Belarus at their borders, who are even worse than the Ukrainians.
This according to someone who has relatives in Poland, not being reported by the media.

I wasn't going to mention it but it's apropos to your post- not about Poland but Ukrainian refugees. One Ukrainian woman here here was found guilty of killing a cyclist due to falling asleep at the wheel a year or so ago.  The prosecution found texts and evidence about/of cocaine and drugs in the car but all this evidence was withheld from the trial.
It's a bad look when you are partying and complaining about being a war refugee, and end up killing someone at the same time. 
They can't let that information get out.  Most of the articles did not mention her nationality nor that drugs were entered into evidence.  Completely thrown out!
All Ukrainians bad, course not. Just brought it to mind.

The MP Braun from Polish Parliament is running for President and getting a lot of attention for his anti-EU views.  Including such stunts as trampling on the EU flag,  burning it outdoors, and ripping down a Ukrainian flag from public building.  
I think he is very courageous and hope he gets the vote.

He's just a clown giving the show for the disgruntled and naive masses. We had a conservative government for eight years who zealously implemented all the EU directives in spite of the anti-EU rhetoric. Now we have liberal government who also zealously implements all the EU directives despite protesting vehemently. One directive wasn't implemented and we were sued by the EU bureaucrats and threatened with huge fines. It's not that this or that government are traitors but that we don't really have any legal possibilities to counter the EU policy because Poland, Hungary and Slovakia are outnumbered by the other countries. We don't have the majority behind our cause. Everyone seems to be infected with green eco psychosis.

Of course, there's a way out and we could leave the EU but that would take us back to 1990, when we were poorer than Ukraine. We got huge amounts of money from the EU, which was spent on building infrastructure, roads, railways, renovations of buildings, agriculture, education etc. Nobody is keeping countries in the EU by force but the question is whether the country can afford to leave it. Poland is not Great Britain. Those who voted for Braun are mostly young people who don't remember the poverty that was in the 90s. I would ask them if they wanted to work for half a wage or for free. Because it was quite normal back then.

Thank you for your local's well-thought-out response. It all makes sense.  Braun seems like more of the same distraction to get people riled up and rather like Trump does not do or have the ability to do half the things he says he would . 

I fear that our glboal governments have been caught in a kind of reverse fascism for some time, where the corporations own the governments , and true private shareholder ownership of companies, and real assets like housing and cars, even entertainment media, is nonexistent.  It's all a loan from a corporation, and that our votes have been uncounted for some decades. It's only now coming to light faster after COVID.

Yes, the family is doing some kind of legal action against the cops, I think.  
AND it turns out she lied about being a refugee for sympathy!
Turns out she has been in the States with an initial FL residence since like 2017.

This is the same town that just had an illegal alien Egyptian try to burn people alive.
