Project Hail Marry: major writer failure
#11
This movie has been doing really good in the theatres, I actually find it interesting/cool regarding the formats it's been available in.
Most movies you see in the theatre are running digital projection, zenon or lazer, but the odd movie such as this one also can be available in 70mm film, or sometimes 70mm IMAX. IMAX gives 4 times the resolution of digital which is 2-4k, IMAX is up to 18k. I will try to get to see it on film before it's done.

Another upcoming film with big expectations will be The Odyssey, and this was actually filmed in the 70mm IMAX format.

I am amazed that any full length movie can be shot in IMAX. The size of the camera and the amount of film are almost beyond belief. I have seen 30 minute IMAX movies but never a full length one.
I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

Even a regular 70mm has 3 big platters, probably 6 feet in diameter all loaded up with film. I have not had a chance to see the IMAX projectors in use, they are seldom used here. I was offered training on running the regular 70mm but just don't have the time.
