The Beast of Bray Road

The Beast of Bray Road

Another possible area of interest that some may not currently be privy for whatever reason, and on par with some of the other recent threads I've been engaging here.

For all of the lycan or Underworld fans out there. These sightings are of a purportedly wolf-like creature observed around the Elkhorn Wisconsin area. They even made a movie in regard to this that seems vaguely familiar. I don't recognize any of the names in said movie, and at surface value it's looking to be about B-grade; one might be more well served via exploring the docs on this.

The sightings are said to go back as far as 1936 with more recent sightings in the 80s and 90s. This particular cryptid is primarily described as "wolf-like" with some believing it to be an actual werewolf while others are deviating to a type of Bigfoot. This creature is described as being around 6' tall or more with gray to brown or black fur. Its face resembling that of a wolf with shiny yellow eyes; perhaps appearing somewhat as a very muscular man when observed upright.

Other names for this creature include man-wolf, bear-wolf, or some form of indigenous dogman, and while the sightings are not confined to the Elkhorn Wisconsin area as they extend to other neighboring counties, the title itself comes from a rural road on the outskirts of Elkhorn.

Awesome addition to our Forums....

It seems that there is along history - outside of Hollywood - about the peculiar creature being observed in North America... distinct enough to constantly merit the distinction... "not Bigfoot - something else."

The idea of "dogman" has often been that phenomenon interrupting element of local lore and legends of cryptids.

I hope we can get more info on this....

Good thread mate and some of the accounts do sound pretty compelling - Linda goes into more detail about 'upright canine humanoid' sightings in this vid.

Apparently the Elkhorn area is also known for ancient earthworks and strange 'UFO like light activity'.

Paul Sinclair's investigations into a small localised area of North Yorkshire also contain certain parallels (including ancient earthworks) and lots of modern day 'upright canine humanoid' reports, not to mention historical accounts of 'wolfmen' going back 100's of years - the area is also rather notorious for UFO light forms, underground noises and animal mute activity.

I was just scattering a few seeds when I got here while you were unloading them by the bucketfull; some germinated rather quickly while others like this one lie dormant like the Sleestak in the Land of the Lost.

Ha yes and glad you did mate - don't know what to think when it comes to this subject but there really are quite a number of freaky reports.

Here's one from a Michigan DNR wildlife biologist but there are plenty more here.

If you've not seen it already (and have Amazon Prime) then would really recommend the documentary 'Wolflands' by Paul Sinclair. Beer

I believe both the movie and also the doc were available on prime video or may even still be.

Do you mean this doco mate or is there another one?

Anyway thought there were some interesting (and consistent) accounts in the vid below.

Quote:For decades, the creature described as a man with a dog’s head, or a dog that walks upright has been spotted by many eyewitnesses.

Join me as we examine the Dogman phenomenon. The Beast of Bray Road, also known as the Bray Road Beast and the Wisconsin Werewolf, is a purported humanoid wolf-like creature allegedly witnessed in or near the rural community of Elkhorn, Walworth County, Wisconsin.

Named for the farm road in which it was first allegedly sighted, Bray Road, reports of the creature in the 1980s and 1990s prompted a local newspaper, the Walworth County Week, to assign reporter Linda Godfrey to cover the story.

Aw that’s unfortunate. The picture I drew for Linda about my sighting is featured on the most recent documentary. She was a friend and a great person
