The Anti-AI Thread

But since it is off topic, I will struggle to keep the topic perspective alive in it.

There will never be a monopoly of exploitable mediums with which anyone execute data transfer freedom.
(That 'exploitation' by the way, is the driving force to make everyone "comfortable" with embracing this "AI" they're all selling.)

Radio and radio propagation theory illustrates exactly how impotent they were rendered...
decade by decade it has been "regulated" into disuse...
but innovation never stops... not even for them.

They, as G. Carlin referred to them, the "owners...," are desperate to "manage" a world that no one can ever escape.  Monopolies are the Big Church...

But reality is such that they can not "control" it all... and eventually, maybe millennia from today, they will learn that humans can't actually "be controlled" as in their dreams of Utopia.

Vain, prideful intransigence, by people who actually believe they can literally define "leadership."

The internet isn't everything... it never was... it's was always virtual...

Thus human operation in society will now DEMAND digital presence....

But now AI will be there... to explain why "it is what it is" in perfectly adequate language.
(And to tell us what is, and what isn't, along the way.)

Why was looking to ham radio considered off-topic when it is definitely anti-AI?

The information highway has given me a wonderful treasure - information at my finger tips and this is how it hooked me. I was also hooked through UFO information seeking which landed me on forums, which offered me interesting engagement with like-minded people of many different interests - this is a good thing.

As for AI, I am seeing people get hooked for reasons, such as loneliness and laziness. When I use AI I check the sources it has used for credibility. Can those sources also be wrong, sure, but if I am in doubt I visit those sources for a consensus. It's still laziness on my part, but not necessarily wrong information.

AI can tell me what it is that it is all day every day, but I'll still challenge and fact check it's perfect adequate language.

Well. Guess I gotta start spoofing Wiki and writing nonsense a lot more.

Newsflash: Temporary restriction on Grok in two countries.

"Malaysia, Indonesia become 1st countries to block Musk's Grok over sexualized AI imagesChatbot criticized for generating manipulated images that sexualized women, children""The moves reflect growing scrutiny of generative AI tools that can produce realistic images, sound and text, along with concerns that existing safeguards are failing to prevent their abuse.
The Grok chatbot, which is accessed through Musk's social media platform X, has been criticized for generating manipulated images, including depictions of women in bikinis or sexually explicit poses, as well as images involving children."

"Initial findings showed that Grok lacks effective safeguards to stop users from creating and distributing pornographic content based on real photos of Indonesian residents, Alexander Sabar, director-general of digital space supervision, said in a separate statement."

My daughter is currently in college. I asked her about Ai, the pros and cons, personal use, etc.

She informed me that one of her classmates cheated with Ai the entire semester and made the Dean's list! (This isn't unique now, I know)

This is not good folks. Play it forward and you can clearly see that if this becomes the standard, we are going to have mindless, ultra dependent automatons with no reference points or destinations.

Grim future.

The latest batch of "graduates" seem to consider "AI" a done deal... and want it as an "appliance."

Apparently, many are willing to give it no more thought...

Leading to this, for example...

Google removes some AI health summaries after investigation finds “dangerous” flaws

Even in the author's treatment in that article, they can't hide from the reality that LLM's (and their clever algorithmic filtering) does not constitute an "intelligence."

Nice article.
I didn't know I could insert curse words in a google search to avoid the idiotic Google overview.

I've seen erroneous information hundreds of times in those overviews.

Oopsie, that article accidentally said the quiet part aloud:

Quote:The technology does not inherently provide factual accuracy. Instead, it reflects whatever inaccuracies exist on the websites Google’s algorithm ranks highly, presenting the facts with an authority that makes errors appear trustworthy.

That is "dangerous", because it only requires a simple connection of logic: "hey, google ranks pages higher that conform to accepted politics and social agenda", "hey, its ai also talks about those things too", "hey, surely they must have foreseen this flaw?"

Oh wait—it's not dangerous at all, because that is a connection of logic, thus is apparently safely beyond the perception most "users".

Hell. That’s awful but I got ya one better.

The same week Elon’s Grok is charged with creating CP and making folks nude on command, Hegseth says they’re gonna incorporate it into Pentagon operations.

What could go wrong?
