Sorry I missed this when you posted it.

Absolutely brilliant band. I saw them way back in 1982 at Milton Keynes Bowl supporting Genesis at their "Six Of The Best" show in support of Peter Gabriel's "WOMAD" charity. Stood in the drizzling rain all day but still wear the grin. I still have the rain damaged concert program too.

I still play all the Talk Talk albumns and will cherish them until I die. Wonderful recordings from a very independant band with their own very unique sound. The track and video you posted here is one of my favorites too.

I try to keep "back then" part of the "here and now". I had "The Best Of Bowie" and Julie Cruise "Falling" playing this afternoon while I started making a Dovecot for the Collared Doves that could do with a home in my garden.

And don't be too jealous I saw them back then. They got booed offstage after a few songs because they were WAY to new for the Prog Rock crowd. Bad choice of show for them. I remember Mark Hollis throwing an apple back into the crowd.

Like some other Talk Talk songs, “It’s My Life” dealt with relationship angst. It also acknowledged a relationship marred by ambivalence and regret.

I'll check out the Stone Roses thread. Speaking of which, The Roses remind me of another group from "back in the day"..lol  Perhaps I should start a new thread about them...

They were called "Objects Of Desire" and played many gigs in the Surrey area. I used to see them at "The Arosa Room" at Richmond Ice Rink. It was a really nice function hall at the back up top.

Crispian Mills was also a member of the group and he went on to found "Kulashaker". His Mum, the famous actress Haley Mills, daughter of John Mills, would often turn up to watch Crispian and because her boyfriend Marcus was the lead singer. Richard O'Brian was often in tow. Very camp guy. Haley was absolutely lovely and always wore a beautiful fur coat.

Their music absolutely blew me away when I first saw them and I always thought it was a shame they never stayed together. The most powerful and energetic stuff I had heard in a long time. Sold out gigs were normal.

The memories are all still here and I still have a promo cassette somewhere. I also think they knocked the pants off anything Kulashaker does.
