Stupid Prizes

Lol.

Probably both.  Took almost 12 minutes to create.

I'd say it's apathy defined... burn out watching love and sublimation replaced by conflict averse derangement intent on fighting with self-applied scarlet letters. Sinking even further down...  And the mutual parasitic relationship it all feeds. And starts a feedback loop that amplifies into "total war."

An obscure and controversial 80s reference to Boyd Rice (Non), who is popular in pretentious occult spheres. A member of the Church of Satan that erroneously used nazi aesthetics to troll society during the Satanic Panic.

I found it ironic and fitting to use...  you can use anything for any purpose now anyway.

Lyrics to song referenced:
Quote:Do you want total war
Throw out Christ and bring back Thor?
Do you want total war
Unleash the beast in man once more?
Do you want total war
Dance and do the lion's roar?
Do you want total war?
Do you want total war?
Yes, you want total war!
Yes, you want total war!

Do you want total war
To see life's will return once more?
Do you want might to prevail
To kick aside the weak and frail?
To smite your foes that they might die
To splatter blood across the sky?

Do you want total war?
Do you want total war?
Yes, you want total war!
Yes, you want total war!
Do you want to rise and kill
To show the world an iron will?
Do you want to stand and fight
To rip asunder this pallid night?
All return the will of man
Let it burn and start again

Do you want total war?
Do you want total war?
Yes, you want total war!
Yes, you want total war!

First picture. Is the ground burning under the chick's feet? We have this saying in Poland when you find yourself in some emergency situation and have to quickly decide what to do; that the ground is burning under your feet.

However, when I first saw it, I thought it might as well be a reference to "Drag me to hell" final scene:

Nice art, by the way.

Thanks.

The inspiration for that piece dragged themself to hell or oblivion, obliviously.

Dogs don't have pecs like that. But I like the second one! Is that moss? Such colours! It almost leaps off the canvas.

Thanks IP!

@ Bird 1

Oh yes... I used a 1025 × 982 pixel canvas and the colors used will play on your screen but be found nowhere in real life now.

The Moss: A special variety that grows in distinct colors. The red moss will always grows to your right, and blue moss only grows to your left.

But both overflow the rim with equal fervor into the valley and mix equally in a pile far below.

@ Bird 2

I refuse to be that overt with it.

The best way to do christ-like doctrine in art is to hide it under what appears to be secular... like how Collective Soul was a christian band and nobody noticed because they followed the Nirvana trend...

And were WAY better at it than Creed... Who really just gave the world a less talented Eddie Vedder.

I'll be glad when the magenta colorfad is passé. Purple I suppose is okay, but the neon magenta is no reason to go into a valley. What kind of moss would want that? The only decent magenta is the phosphene kind, beamed directly to your retina by valis.

So I've been alternating checking in here and doing chores, and the dadgummed song Sirius posted has been stuck in my head. "Peace, and love, and more tolerance..." Made me think. As you say, it's very overt. Maybe surfacy? And you know what? So what. Who cares. So much of culture is shallow, that's nothing new. And cringe? Why? Are we supposed to hide that that is a decent message? Where does that conditioning come from? Maybe it's useful for self-reflection, the cudgel of cringe, but then what? And I think that's where we are now. After a few decades (in the US anyway) of cringe. Everywhere. It just doesn't do it any more, it's become reflexive, a phantom pain. The only thing that's really cringe any more, is cringe itself. So I guess the next step is deconditioning the instinct to apologize for that. Just Jinjer rox!

Each instance of cringe is like a rock thrown over the valley at the other side, a signal of emotional unacceptability or cognative dissonance. In our brains and in our politics. Maybe that's what the valley should be—a place where we don't have to throw stones any more. I'd go there.
