Strange Food Pairings

There's deep-fried donut cheeseburgers, deep-fried beer, deep-fried chocolate covered bacon, deep-fried watermelon, there's umm, Deep-fried jello, Deep-fried butter, deep-fried smores, deep-fried lattes, deep-fried Coca-Cola, deep-fried aligator on a stick, deep-fried ice cream, deep-fried pickles, deep-fried twinkie, deep-fried twinkie hotdogs, deep-fried jelly beans, deep-fried Kool-aid, deep-fried Kool-aid pickles, deep-fried hot beef sundae, deep-fried cookie dough, and deep-fried scorpions... that's ... thats about it.

I think that was more painful than funny, but whatever, i committed to the joke.

I ordered take-out one night a few years ago, and they dropped off the bag while I was engrossed in the football game. When I went to get my dinner, they had brought the wrong order completely.

But it was regular bar fare, dinner-wise, but they had 3 deep-fried Oreo cookies with a chocolate mousse dip and white butter icing dip for dessert, which was decadent as hell...

Celery is so too damn healthy on it's own.
I think I read that raw celery is negative calories since it takes a bit of energy to chew it.  Don't know it that is true.

So, it is best to stuff it.

1.  peanut butter, creamy or chunky.
2.  cream cheese, sprinkled with paprika.
3.  softened cream cheese, mixed with chopped green olives.

Also, salt can be sprinkled on various fruits to enhance their flavors.

Examples I've tried.
watermelon
apples
tomatoes

Really good deepfried doughnuts recipe I experimented with..  Add a little Tequilla Rose to the mix before deep frying them.  Too much and it is overpowering, one of those tiny little bottles...I think they are one ounce...is enough for three times, and just roll them in some sugar when finished frying.

Never tried any other alcohols in them, and of course, they are so good that you tend to eat way to much.  Great for a small party though, just make sure to make sure someone does not drink all the Tequilla Rose...or you will need a bigger bottle

Experimenting is fun sometimes.

I like tarter sauce on my french fries and always get extra when I go to a fish fry.  We make our own special tarter sauce when we have fries at home, it is a hack off of Iver's tarter sauce we got off the internet after having some one time.  They do not sell Ivers around here at all, so we had to look it up.

Yes, I need to talk about healthy eats too... Ive backslidden these past 3-4 weeks

Watermelon, a little lime, and mint are excellent, and I've grown to love pineapple, whether fresh or frozen.

Celery and a good hummus is my healthy snack, but I really need to do the Green Goddess juice again

It's celery, spinach, parsley, cilantro, and a Granny Smith apple, so good and good for you too.

It's a great fasting juice too...

Uber Eats Grocery and YouTube cooking videos are a terrible combination. But you get ideas... for better or worse.

Since the days of meaty drunk food I've gone healthy and Californicated. Cut out the land animals..

And if you commit to a low fat vegetarian plus fish diet, you dont lose, so much as gain a need to experiment more.

A favorite is pan-fried Cod, Salmon, or Tilapia (in avocado oil, chives, and garlic) with a sweet and hot salsa topping.

Salsa: Tomato, onion, bell peppers, serrano peppers, jalapeno, cilantro, mango, and strawberry.

And then put on white jasmine rice, because Quinoa can go fuck itself. I dont know if Salsa on fish over rice is "strange" though. Pretty common.

You can do delicious things with a block of tofu as good as any weird textured air-filled meat.

Like you can take the cubes and marinate them in a habenero BBQ marinade. Maybe add a little garlic salt.

Then grill them like kabobs. And apply the sauce as cooking. I use a toaster oven, because I dont have a broiler or grill and its better outcome than oven-baking. 10 minutes. Flip. Reapply marinade. Repeat.

For those not 65% committed to veganism, the marinade is also great on chicken.

Pickled bologna and saltine crackers. It has to be Fischer's brand of pickled bologna. I've tried others but something about the flavor just isn't right.

Bananas and cheese. It has to be American cheese, nothing else will do.

American cheese wins on flexibility! Do you wrap it around the banana, or stack slices?

Also, you can microwave bologna to make a bologna-bowl!

Once you have that, the sky's the limit!

You just fold it double and take a bite of banana then a bite of the cheese. It's surprisingly good. The 2 flavors just seem to complement each other.
