I'd also like to add that some felons, not all, deserve a restitution of rights after their sentence is completed. Which is possible under state law, but not the feds. While the law exists on the books for federal restitution, congress doesn't appropriate any money to it.
Hate this man for what he did certainly, but I know and work with a plethora of former gangbangers and felons and the people I call my friends are hard working family people that have left that life behind long ago. That certainly doesn't apply to everyone though, but there's a lot of people out there trying to wash the stain off of them for a decision they made 20 years ago. That to me isn't right. Not when they've served their sentence.
