Can't deal with the red candy ones.
And here, sometimes the carmel apples are rolled in chocolate chips, or mini marshmallows, stuff like that.

Carmel apples ... mmmmmmm

Caramel apple with snickers bit's attached?

Sorry... caramel apples were among the first delicious candies that I had to abandon.  it was that damn glue-like coating... like eating a sticky mouse trap.

From ArsTechnica: A candy engineer explains the science behind the Snickers bar
Subtitled: How the airy nougat and chewy caramel is built.

Let’s look at the elements of a Snickers bar as an example of candy science. As with almost everything, once you get into it, each component is more complex than you might think.

This is a worth while read if, like me, you enjoy a Snickers bar once in a while, and ponder on how its built.

My favorite candy bar as well.

What a process!  And those assembly lines run continuously, 24/7.

I started thinking about you much money it makes, and then... what happens if it breaks!

The downtime of not producing is one thing, but then there is what is required to fix it.

I can just imagine the IT and Engineering it takes to make sure that thing stays online, and I would love to be there and observe what happens when it starts slamming all those bars all over the room. There must be some stories...

No wonder they tasted weird.

A creative man wouldn't stop there, he would make a little hole in the crust to lick at the soft centre. The art of not chewing sweets has been a craft through the ages, but usually with those who have lived ages.

This began, most recognizably, with the rejection of politically-oriented thinking as essentially a hopeless waste of intellectual effort." ~ John Forbes Nash
