Have you noticed that many try to keep religion out of the question?

Religion doesn't scare me - if people have a good heart then it doesn't really matter what they believe in.

I think for the most part almost any political system would work, with the right people in charge.

However when I look at history and see what we humans have done to each other over the millennia I realise that human nature is dreadful. A crowd will tear you apart in a heartbeat and a despot can kill millions with the backing and support of a suitably primed population. Nothing has changed. We have economies based on war and weapons. 

The psychopaths and sociopaths will always rise to the top and the sheep will follow.

Great minds and beautiful people have given so much yet nothing changes.

When the corona madness started, I said they would use war as a smoke screen to hide their mistakes and their crimes - and I was unfortunately right.

All the leaders need to be fired, and then humanity should choose the best of them to lead. Then we could get a real democracy.

Don't lose hope.

We'll just replace them with more idiots because democracy under the current forms is literally mob rule. 

It's quite possible I'm jaded though.

My suspicion is we don't need any leaders, we need to insist on a more comprehensive curriculum because we're all idiots one way or another. Hope? It's the thing with feathers...

I think you have a good heart. You say 'only because you let them'. What is it that you do that is different from me? A rant on DI is fine. My reply was my own little rant. It's all good.

I live my life as an example to the people around me. I am surrounded by young people. I fondly call myself the eternal grandfather! Humble, self effacing and kind. Such is the way.

It's a reference to a poem. I'm not a fan of extremism, fighting and revolution sounds a bit extreme when I already have democracy.

If I'm willing to revolt because I don't agree with democratically elected leaders then I would say that makes me an extremist, my leaders are often full of crap but I'm a good long walk away from thinking they should be forcefully removed.

Why?

They don't have any power over me, nobody does as long as I remain a good little citizen, which frankly is quite an agreeable deal. Civilization is fairly just in the grand scheme of things.

That is a good way of looking at it. It reminds me of the people who decry the Federal Reserve. Yes, it's a scam in some ways, but they do provide a product. And frankly, the American Dollar is not a terrible product. It's nice not having to barter for everything! How the dollar is leveraged throughout the world by the American Government is, in my view, a separate matter. It's important I think to keep a balanced perspective. To distinguish dishonest evil from honest evil, so to speak haha.
