I’d like to ring the guys neck that came out with auto-tune, music has been going downhill ever since.  More than half of these pop acts can’t even sing they’re own music anymore.

Agree.   I think autotune is the mark of the debil.   ANYone can sound decent with autotune.

But i have been listening to some AI rocks songs on YouTube that for sure is better than 80% of the stuff real bands are putting out now.

I have even signed up for Suno AI Music creation to check this out further, it's pretty amazing really.

As a drummer, my musician buddies think I am crazy for even messing with it but I think it has a lot of potential.

It does

I have no musical ability, but occasionally need tracks for videos. I used Pond5, but it takes forever to find the right track.

AI pumps it out royalty-free in a fraction of the time, and it sounds great, no, it isn't Rush or Yes, but it's commercial grade for my industry.

If I had had this 10-15 years ago, I could have made 5 times what I did make in the same industry, but working on something I enjoyed.

For those musically inclined definitely an idea generator. Ive fallen asleep listening to all my tracks, and if I didn't enjoy it personally, I'd wake up with a black cloud over my head.

Im listening to it right now.... It's excellent background music

It's the No. 1 hit on the US Billboard chart, according to Newsweek.
It's from the new group called 'Breaking Rust'...and the song is called "Walk My Walk" and it's now at the top of country charts.

ALSO...it's 100% A.I.
(hence the posting in Science and technology forum)

Now Shut up and LISTEN

This could portend trouble for human musicians everywhere.

In another life, I listened to lots of country music, went to lots of concerts, Alan Jackson, Garth, Toby Keith, Kenny, Zack Brown, Florida Georgia Line, many more popular artists that Ive forgotten

Plus, my Dad liked all kinds of music, so one moment we'd have Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass, A Taste of Honey, and the next would be Jerry Reed's Amos Moses, or When You're Hot, you're Hot

This is pretty damn good, AI misses some of the nuances, but there's enough there to mke me listen over and over.

If a semi-big name did a cover, it would be well played on the radio... If a star did it, it would be a hit

110%, the basic elements are there, but it's missing the personality, the nuances, the pain, the feeling.

LOL Especially country, hell, I remember when it was country and western, I remember when the Eagles got as much play on the country stations as the rock stations.

Johnny Cash lived it, Hank lived it, Alan lived it

aint nobody sing Polk Salad Annie like Tony White I like the King's cover but it aint Tony.

The irony of naming this song, Walk My Walk

You have to literally walk the Walk and experience the heartache, heartbreak, lonliness, loss, suffering, grit and pain of life to project it into artistic creation giving it depth that the canned junk of the corporate world lacks

It's a subtle vibe but easily recognized by people who get it

It's how real knows real

Let's just say I believe some generations live on a deeper, different level at a slower, more thoughtful pace

I love the convenience of all songs on my phone, but when I  really want to listen to music, I prefer listening to the whole album. The story the artist intended to tell, so many songs are missed with digital music.
