Looking at what my parents knew from college in the 50's I knew by middle school public schools were a joke. I was going to be woefully unprepared. From open classrooms of the 60's to a menu of useless electives in HS.
Even in HS the trade classes were a joke. Just a place to park kids who weren't academically inclined basically "hands on babysitting". About anyone who graduated from the trades classes had to start all over in a accredited Trades Program from scratch.
Alabama's Program is genius.
It's long overdue.
