Maybe, dunno about free will, but being its own trickster definitely seems accurate to me.

Have you read "The Prince and the Magician" from "The Magus" by John Fowles?

"Once upon a time there was a young prince who believed in all things but three. He did not believe in Princesses, he did not believe in islands, he did not believe in God. His father, the king, told him that such things did not exist. As there were no princesses or islands in his father's domains, and no sign of God, the prince believed his father.

But then, one day, the prince ran away from his palace and came to the next land. There, to his astonishment, from every coast he saw islands, and on these islands, strange and troubling creatures whom he dared not name. As he was searching for a boat, a man in full evening dress approached him along the shore.

"Are those real islands?" asked the young prince.

"Of course they are real islands," said the man in evening dress.

"And those strange and troubling creatures?"

"They are all genuine and authentic princesses."

"Then God must also exist!" cried the prince.

"I am God," replied the man in evening dress, with a bow.

The young prince returned home as quickly as he could.

"So, you are back," said his father, the king.

"I have seen islands, I have seen princesses, I have seen God," said the prince reproachfully.

The king was unmoved.

"Neither real islands, nor real princesses, nor a real God exist."

"I saw them!"

"Tell me how God was dressed."

"God was in full evening dress."

"Were the sleeves of his coat rolled back?"

The prince remembered that they had been. The king smiled.

"That is the uniform of a magician. You have been deceived."

At this, the prince returned to the next land and went to the same shore, where once again he came upon the man in full evening dress.

"My father, the king, has told me who you are," said the prince indignantly. "You deceived me last time, but not again. Now I know that those are not real islands and real princesses, because you are a magician."

The man on the shore smiled.

"It is you who are deceived, my boy. In your father's kingdom, there are many islands and many princesses. But you are under your father's spell, so you cannot see them."

The prince pensively returned home. When he saw his father, he looked him in the eye.

"Father, is it true that you are not a real king, but only a magician?"

The king smiled and rolled back his sleeves.

"Yes, my son, I'm only a magician."

"Then the man on the other shore was God."

"The man on the other shore was another magician."

"I must know the truth, the truth beyond magic."

"There is no truth beyond magic," said the king.

The prince was full of sadness. He said, "I will kill myself."

The king by magic caused death to appear. Death stood in the door and beckoned to the prince. The prince shuddered. He remembered the beautiful but unreal islands and the unreal but beautiful princesses.

"Very well," he said, "I can bear it."

"You see, my son," said the king, "you, too, now begin to be a magician.""

With all the data available on the Internet, all the eyes and ears that big data has in our lives, it could correlate the apparently-unrelated in ways a human never could—the time of year, the price of wheat, the length of women's dresses, travel plans—the various ebbs and flows of our day to day lives. It's insights might seem eerily omniscient, with no logical beginning or end. But would they be? Or are we just looking for new ways to fool ourselves? As if.

Guesses would probably be based on:
1) What was "everybody" talking about and thinking about, and trying to understand on that date?

2) Specifically at the subject's (mine) geo-location. Yeah, that's known.

3) What memes were viral at the time (time zone correlated)?

One topic was foremost. We know what that was.

But the twist is that my crisis had to do with the need to have a different topic to focus on. So it would have had to be something different. Then, I had an idea; so brilliant that it would have been worth starting a whole new thread. I really should have jotted down notes or something.

Instead, I wanted to take a break and read this children's book I've been slowly reading. Then once reading for about 40 minutes or so, I totally forgot my brilliant thoughts. Crisis averted, I suppose.

And now the whole World has been deprived of my brilliant idea* (whatever the heck it was).

On thing I've noticed about big business ethics is that their last consideration is the health of the environment or helping the needy. So reminding them may be what is needed these days.

"Rainwater Could Help Satisfy AI’s Water Demands

---------

As for asking God anything, I'll do it the one-on-one method as per usual.

Rainwater can also keep people and other animals alive.

I remember when Bechtel Owned the Rain in Bolivia in 1999. I heard it on NPR.
Quote:In 1997 the World Bank, with support of the International Monetary Fund, told Bolivia that additional aid for water development was conditional upon Bolivia privatizing the public water system in the two largest urban settings, El Alto/La Paz and Cochabama.  In September of 1999 the government of Bolivia contracted with the only bidder, Bechtel, which has its home office in San Francisco, California, to have the corporation run the municipal water and sewage system in Cochabama, Bolivia for forty years.  The contract reportedly gave the government 2.5 billion dollars.  In exchange, Bechtel was guaranteed a return of 16% on their investment. In addition to the municipal system Bechtel claimed control over the water in wells and rain.

In Bolivia, 70% of the population earns less than the poverty level of wages. In January of 2000 protestors shut down Cocabama for four days complaining that waters bills had doubled or tripled since the corporation took over.  During the “water war” that followed government forces were set loose on the civilian population.  In the single month of April that year, six demonstrators were killed and dozens were wounded.  Despite the deaths and injuries, public protestors refused to give in, saying they could not pay their water bills and still have enough money to feed their families.

When it comes down to it, the oligarchs will totally prioritize AI and crypto currency over humanity. So no heavily armed killer robots required to eliminate humans, the greed of CEOs with the cooperation of governments can do it without terminator units.

Well, sure they would have to take rainwater collection's environmental impact into consideration, or tap down to groundwater resources, but they aren't doing anything.

The Amalek question is very pertinent to me. Some years ago I was reading up on Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the guy who the United States by act of Congress celebrates with Education and Sharing Day.

According to Tanya, sacred text of Chabad, Jews alone have access to G.d through their extra soul. Gentiles have only the animal soul. That right there is chauvinism.

Schneerson, in his writings, wrote that Jews must occupy and control the whole of Palestine so that there is no Palestine, only Eretz Israel. Not only are indigenous Palestinians Amalek, but anybody who interferes with the extermination of Amalek is also Amalek. Even European descended Americans, you know White People.

I am Amalek, I must be eliminated. It's mandatory. No if ands or butts about it.
Gentile Americans can avoid being Amalek by adopting Noahide way. Accept your subservient position like good beasts of burden.

But to balance this out, I will post this wonderful 40 minute video which picks on Islam and Christianity and Hinduism and Buddhism too.

Yes.

The Bible says that everything necessary for knowing the greatness of God is freely available through direct observation. No book required.
Quote:18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.

- Romans 1 NASV

That's evidently only good enough to damn people or something.
The book is the way out of damnation. For some, not all.

For it is written that God made some people to be glorious and some merely to suffer damnation for His own glory. See Romans 9: 16-23 in the translation of your choice.

==== Edit to add ======

That seems harsh.
Best to look for balance through extra-Biblical sources.
