We need a reset of some sort, but corporate America has become sooo greedy that they will never comply.    People are sick of it though and deciding to boycott everywhere.

Lower corporate tax rates and increase incentives for businesses in America.

It makes no sense to outsource all of our critical products (pharmaceuticals for example).

Make private equity illegal.

Lower the retirement age, I can’t tell you how many 76 yr olds I’ve had the displeasure of working with; they hang on with kung fu grip, own their homes,  just like their lottery or take out and tie up the job (they can’t even do anyways) from a younger person.

My son literally had known over 30 young adults who are no longer alive; these were good people with promise who are no longer here.  Do you really think the illegals (who get severely unpaid) or work under the table while collecting benefits is going to keep this economy going?

Get too greedy, lose everything!

I honestly feel it is all too little too late!  Gonna be Mad Max at some point. What a waste.

I don't know the answer.  Can it be the workers themselves weren't willing to move because they thought they were going to get degrees and there would be a job waiting for them?  Can it be the places with jobs would rather import people without the expectation of a prestigious job?

Very valid assessment.

But I’ll counter and posit it ain’t just “brains”. Any way you slice it, foreign workers are such a boon to Industry and Ag, that weaning off HB-1s is damn near verboten.

Put it this way. UPS sacked thousands of American workers in favor of foreign labor. Which of course they’ll pay as little as possible.

As Pelosi points out, “who’s gonna pick our fruits and veggies?”

Not to mention the kinks haven’t been ironed in the least when AI is somehow suppose to make life sweeter and not just more productive and/or profitable.

just this week I watched a clip of a farmer that had utilized a POS AI tractor that is now defunct with no inkling of a “fix” on the way. And this thing cost millions to implement initially.

Looks like the check came due a few decades ago trying to make the 3rd World a 1st one.

Easier to bring the 1st World down a notch or two I guess.

The 4th Industrial Revolution is gonna get bumpy. Already is I suppose. Globalism a Go-Go and stuff.
