Some people wear underwear some don't, such is the way. There may be many reasons why and of course we are brought up in a culture where we are conditioned (for want of a better word) to do so.
I never comment on lucid dreaming. It sounds like it is what it is! Astral projection might need something a little more tangible to support it as a real thing. So I question it and people react defensively lol.
I can be honest to a fault! I occasionally ponder why.
I mentioned lucid dreaming since the nature of dreams cannot be found in these moments that could be termed 'astral' travelling. OOBE is seemingly accurate though. The landscape, faces and theme consistently change within dreams. You also cannot read in dreams, anyone who's tried whilst lucidly dreaming will find the words jumbled or even dancing about. You'll soon wake up if you don't knock it off. Non of that's true when 'astral dreaming' and the details of things mirror what was true moments before whilst being awake. The folds of the bedding, the length of your hair, that hole in your old sweatshirt etc.
I shared an experience on ATS where I had one of these moments after sleep but before waking, I stared into the eyes of a spider for a while until it started descending, I awoke to a spider landing on the chair near me. That's the closest to evidence I've gotten personally that it isn't simply imagination. But for you that's going to be as subjective as any claim you cannot necessarily repeat or replicate yourself.
My opinion is it's random stuff and doesn't necessarily mean anything, I've been wrong though! :)
I'd try experimenting, like playing cups with myself or name the item at a destination I know I could visit. Far as I can tell though it's completely random. I don't know much about Hinduism but the bits I do kinda say I'd never be interested in experimenting in those experiences anyway. It would be counterintuitive to why I'm there in the first place I'd imagine.
Every time I think about those experiences I get the strong sense I'd be highly entertained just watching paint dry or the water in a cup vibrate as cars pass by in the street.
