An excellent in-depth discussion on the psychological origins of the leftist totalitarian worldview:
Featuring Iain McGilchrist, author of The Master and His Emissary: The Divided Brain and the Making of the Western World, and Mattias Desmet, author of The Psychology of Totalitarianism and The Pursuit of Objectivity in Psychology. You may remember Desmet from the controversy surrounding his explanation of mass-formation psychosis with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic.
I think it's important to realize that the intolerance and totalitarianism of the left does not merely arise from current events and politics, but has a deeper psychological basis, derived from an aberrant and exclusionary worldview.
If you have time, watch the video. It's informative. What do you think?

Both Iain and Mattias discussed their worldviews independently, followed by an audience Q&A.
