Predict How Big A Market Drop for 1/19-1/23, 2026
#1
Not sure of which forum .... a discussion on the Greenland/Europe situation in regards to the Stock Market.

I"m going with 3,000 point DOW drop on Tuesday to start with.
(market holiday on Monday)
The rest of the week will be ugly as well.

We've all heard the news .... Donald Trump says he is going to impose a 25% tariff on certain NATO countries unless they agree with him that Greenland should become part of the United States.   This also blows up the EU/USA trade deal that was close to closing.  HERE    He also said that the tariffs won't come off until those countries agree with the USA getting Greenland, which they will never do, so these are not temporary tariffs like the ones in the past.

So ... what is your prediction for the stock market this coming week - Jan 19, 2026  through Jan 23, 2026?

I'm going with a 3,000 DOW drop on Tuesday to start with.
I think it's going to be ugly.
And I don't think it will bounce back anytime soon.

This is huge.  He's blowing up the market and NATO as well.

Am I being too nervous?   I don't think so.
Am I suffering from TDS?   Nope.  I give him credit when he does something right.
But this .... this just isn't right.
At least not right for people who are counting on a 401K for retirement.

I predict no drop at all in the DOW on Monday.

It's a market holiday.

I don't think there will be a blip.

Trump can't impose tariffs without a valid reason.

So no drama.

In my humble. . . .
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

Me thinks even with a 3 or 4000 point drop I will still be better off than when the Biden Cocaine family was in charge. 2026 is gonna be a great time to be in the market says my 8 ball fortune teller !

Doesn't matter.
All the money people will see is a 25% unending tariff
and a euro trade deal that got tanked.

So far it's not pretty but not as bad as I would have thought.

Europe caved on any immediate retaliations. They're all in Davos right now, enjoying their perfectly normal parties and meetings, and didn't want to be bothered.

Fairly flat. I don't think that even counts as a blip.
