Dear DI members,
this is my first thread (and post) here. Firstly, I would like to say hello to everyone and welcome to my thread.
Since October 2022, I've completed five separate trips to the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR) for aircraft spotting. Since I was twelve, I always wanted to visit my favourite Air Force US locations and after about 14 years of long awaiting period, I managed to see two of the most important and secure (indeed!) ones - Groom Lake and Tonopah Test Range, for the first time.
Long story short, I think it is safe to assume that most regular users here have seen my productions already, so there is no point to describe each trip extensively but I would be delighted to share some links that, I hope, everyone will find interesting.
Let's take a look, then...
Cancelled Test at Groom after base's UH-60 spots me on Tikaboo! October 12, 2023:

NTTR from inside, 7-11 May 2023:

You are welcome to visit and subscribe my YouTube channel (n01_b4_flash): www.youtube.com/@n01_b4_flash-ev5jb
At the same point, I would like to say that both of the locations are still pretty much active and there is plenty of operations during a day (as well as at night) that are regularly undertaken, for instance:
[-] F-117's are still pretty active with at least two of them flying for training sorties out of TTR on a daily basis (I managed to see them three out of five times I was up there) - they are flying for about 1,5-2 hours for a day and then RTB.
[-] Groom-based UH-60 still investigates spotters/climbers atop of Tikaboo Peak, especially if they are supposed to launch something black.
[-] TTR sometimes is to be visited by at least several cargo / transport planes at the same day, then fly a few missions, then get back to TTR.
... and more to come soon, hopefully.
I welcome any questions in regarding to my sightings, trips and everything else that is related to that very subject of me. I will be happy to answer, discuss and extend on everything that may be a point of interests
Cheers

Thanks for posting about your adventures near the Nevada Test and Training Range. This looks like it's going to be an interesting thread!

I read your page on the cancelled test
Intriguing ' I heard a low pulsating sound approaching from the base'
I was hoping it was going to be a UFO :D
Fun stuff - hope you catch something soon.
Can you explain to a noob like me what I am looking at exactly besides an air strip , parked vehicles and buildings?

Hah, tried to write that with a bit of good taste, at least ;) Each time I'm travelling, there I'm doing this for different reason as each visit has it's own dedicated mission. These are visits that are planned for at least a several good months in advance. Of course, for me, the main aim is to collect as much memories as I can, this is what powers me to get back and come with different ideas, purely for my own satisfaction.
The panorama you've linked was taken by me in October 2023. I was standing atop of Tikaboo Peak, playing with my camera settings and when looking at the Groom base I just thought "well, it's getting dark but I have correct settings set so... let's give it a try!" so I took it and was happy with results being so sharp when it comes to resolution of the image and overall result.
As for what you are looking for - as I mentioned, this is panorama of Groom Lake (commonly known as Area 51) - one of the most secretive places on the Earth. This is RDTE (Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation) Air Force base located in Nevada, US built in 1955. You can hardly see any vehicles there (due to darkness) but you are able to see a miltitude of buildings and hangars. If you look to the far right, you will also see a dry lake - this is indeed Groom Lake, a salt flat that the base was built next to as a complex attached.
Just imagine that this pic was taken from ~ 26 miles (42 km), take this detail as important to think of how large and extended that complex is. This are wild miles of a beautiful desert floor!

That was a referrence to the images of some (probably mundane) fighters landing at Groom in the dark. The content alone was not good enough to be posted separately so we decided to make just one common article about it along with panoramas I took that day from atop of Tikaboo Peak. 'Bonus' was just for informative purposes for anyone visiting the link.

Welcome to DI, and I applaud your efforts in pursuing your area of interest!
Question for you...Is the 'dreamlandresort' website yours, or are you just a contributor to it?
Just curious because there are some pretty fantastic photos in the archives which must have taken years to compile (decades even), and some of those photos are taken with some pretty spectacular camera gear, given their resolution framing and focus. Capturing a high resolution image, up close, of a fighter jet moving at 300-400mph is not an easy proposition by a long shot! And, given what I know about the area where many of those photos were taken, photographers can spend months just trying to get photo of a single aircraft. Just the Red Flag sections of the archive alone are packed with hundreds of such photographs which is almost a lifetime pursuit.
If you are that photographer, then you rank right up there with some of the greatest photographers who have ever stood behind a camera, and my hat is off to you, sir!
