November 1st SNAP benefit funding

I figure it will get interesting when certain segments of the population in each state does not receive their SNAP handouts. Another thing of interest is how Republican governors versus Democrat governors are approaching the problem. One man's take on the situation https://twitter.com/SnowintheKnow/status...3060076953

I've said for years that the Democrats are con artists.

This is just another example that proves me right.

If government is big enough to give to you, then it's big enough to take from you.

All the evil left shutdown is doing is making more republicans, conservatives.

 Lol Lol Lol
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

Store owners of little mom and pop stores need to use their noggins and do what they did in the old days and run a book again for their regular customers, with the amount of gold/ jewellery that some people flash and wear , the little shop becomes the pawn broker.

I can see the bigger places only letting in people with cash or delivery only but I can guarantee America is going to be awash with store robbers, chimps going to chimp
Never argue with a idiot as you will get dragged down to his level and beaten with his vast experience

Those people might not be getting their handouts. But big tech and oil companies will still be getting their billions in handouts. And of course the farm subsidies, to very wealthy people.

42 million people are on SNAP.
70% of SNAP recipients are overweight or obese.
Only 4.2 million-or 10%—are disabled, and 44% of those disabilities are due to obesity or obesity-related illnesses.
3.9 million SNAP recipients are the children of illegal aliens.
1.5 million are refugees or asylees from other countries.

THE FOOD STAMP PROGRAM IS ADMINISTERED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE.
THEY PROUDLY REPORT THAT THEY DISTRIBUTE FREE MEALS AND FOOD STAMPS TO OVER 42 MILLION PEOPLE ON AN ANNUAL BASIS.

MEANWHILE, THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE, RUN BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR, ASKS US, "PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS".
THEIR STATED REASON FOR THIS POLICY BEING THAT..
"THE ANIMALS WILL GROW DEPENDENT ON THE HANDOUTS, AND THEN THEY WILL NEVER LEARN TO TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES".

Well...

They have until Friday.

And if they dont end what i hope is a symbolic month long refusal to let the ACA die they will actually do more to harm the people whose healthcare they are trying to save.

5.5 million Californians are not getting their EBT reloaded.  I'm sure THAT is more important to them then the 14 million nationwide losing their health coverage.

They need to take the bitter fucking pill, because there is no compromise on healthcare with this administration, and move on.

41 million Americans don't get the EBT reloaded on Nov 1st.

"I'm glad you are fighting so hard to keep 4% of the country from losing health coverage, but the 12% of the country on food stamps prefers to eat."

Unless they really want to give Trump every opportunity to kill the democrat party.

He can then just say, "To all 41 million Americans expecting SNAP benefits today, you can thank your democtat leaders! Etc. Etc.. something in ALL CAPS."

California contributed about 20% of its 2024 GDP to the Federal government in taxes in 2024, and got almost all of that—19.5%—back in payments to its citizens.

San Diego county alone got about $1.15 billion in SNAP benefits last year.

Here is San Diego county's largest food bank:
https://www.sandiegofoodbank.org/

In 2024, they got by with $120 million in funding. About 1/10 of what the county kicked up to the Federal government that got payed back (less a 2.5% vig) into their local SNAP coffers.

If y'all don't want a welfare state that craps out on you, quit pushing big government and simply take care of your people directly. And quit whinging about how other people are evil, and you're somehow carrying the rest of the ungrateful country on your backs. California is in it for California, that much is obvious.

Percentage of State Residents That Recieve EBT:
(via Google Skynet)

National 12.2%

California: 13.6%
New York: 15%
Illinois: 15%

Michigan: 14%
Indiana: 8%
Arkansas: 7.7%
Tennessee: 13%
Florida: 13%
Texas: 10.7%

Massachusetts: 15.6%
Arizona 12.1%
Alaska: 13%
Idaho: 7.1%
Mississippi: 13.1%
Louisiana: 19%
Georgia: 15%

North Dakota: 6.1%
Kansas 6.3%
Oklahoma: 16.8%

Oregon 17.7%
Hawaii 11.6%

Has the color-coded point been made?

Oh yeah, we're just super-liberal by comparison with our welfare state handouts. We're not at all similar to Alaska, Florida, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Though rural states with corn, livestock, or nothing do quite well by comparison to the rest.

The best I could find was North Dakota at 6.1% and the worst by far was Louisiana.
