In your scenario, wouldn’t it make more sense the guy would be offed in some sort of accident before he could even hint at something? If the stakes are this high and the government that powerful? Before he got to bait and hook you all?

Noland, like Hal Puthof is one of the guys in the know. An insider insider. And he’s directly stated these craft exist.
If You are fishing for my thoughts it is likely everything we are seeing is our craft. Small chance some of the tech comes from non-human source but many possibilities of what that could be. Ex: Another species in our ocean. But mostly I think they are ours.
