QUOTE: Undocumented immigrants are largely ineligible for federal healthcare programs like Medicaid and Medicare and are ineligible for most federal health care benefits, aside from emergency care. https://forumtogether.org/wp-content/upl...h-Care.pdf No food stamps, no housing, no services unless they're on the verge of dying. See also Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act of 1996 https://www.congress.gov/bill/104th-cong...-bill/3734 To expand on this... Under the law, undocumented immigrants may only access federal benefits that are deemed necessary to protect life or guarantee safety in dire situations, such as emergency Medicaid, access to treatment in hospital emergency rooms, or access to healthcare and nutrition programs under the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). order to be eligible for these emergency services, undocumented immigrants need to meet all of Medicaid’s other nonfinancial and financial eligibility requirements If you've ever tried to get these services, you will remember that there's a lot of paperwork and background checking. Bottom line: undocumenteds aren't using these services that much. And the folks who need them are people like the coal miners and citizens in poverty. The services have been around for quite awhile and every time some scoundrel cheats the system, the system will act (perhaps not quickly) to close that door. You can see the statistics here (all branches of Medicare fraud is under 10%, most are 5% or lower) https://www.cms.gov/newsroom/fact-sheets...fact-sheet Most fraud (as you may have noticed when following the news) is by doctors or clinics or hospitals overbilling or billing for services that weren't actually performed (https://ccf.georgetown.edu/2025/01/10/th...-medicaid/) ...at least, it shows up in the sources that I follow.

I work in hospitals in a sanctuary state and I can tell you that illegals are using ED's for nosebleeds and paper cuts.

No. Do I need to explain that subsidies go straight to insurance companies to keep the costs low for Obamacare recipients? I don't do primers. My posts are for people who are already aware and know. Think grad-school level.

Quote:Socialism is an economic and political philosophy encompassing diverse economic and social systems characterised by social ownership of the means of production, as opposed to private ownership. But Anthem, Kaiser Permenente and Aetna made record profits off the ACA. Quote:America's largest health insurers have raked in more than $371 billion in profits since the passage of the Affordable Care Act, 230% increase in revenue. Why not crony capitalism instead? I get that people think, "High taxes to pay for low income healthcare = Socialism," but that's still not socialism. Isn't that what the Medicare and Social Security withholdings are. Value added taxes for social services? its like, "the elderly, the disabled, and vets are okay if they don't cost too much, but low income is where we draw the line!" The main thing here really is, "Being low income shouldnt qualify anyone for social services." And that's where the line REALLY IS, and has been since welfare (that is seen as rewarding laziness) became a thing. But if you want to say that the ACA is socialist for expanding that, you have to say these selected countries are Ultra-Socialist, as they do way more in the "guarenteed access to healthcare" department then we would ever. Quote:Asia: Does Trump know Israel are marxists with socialized Healthcare programs that guarantee a right to Healthcare for all citizens? Quote:Europe: Does Airbus know their apparently also state owned because they are headquartered in a socialist country? Other Noted evil leftists that pay for universal Healthcare with higher VATs include: Quote:Canada, Mexico, Austrailia, New Zealand, So Trump is choosing Argentine beef over the USA? Does he know they're socialists that made Healthcare free? And how can those free healthcare socialists still have private businesses that export beef? Its like socialized Healthcare should exist as a separate idea from the idea of the state owning the means of production, but it doesn't. Like that list, that list of our most substantial formally free trade partners is also a list of people you have qualified as socialist based on your views on The ACA. But we're all still free to our hyperbolic statements about all these capitalist countries tax system, or what they choose to spend that very capitalist tax revenue on...

That's the problem with most people today. I don't ask a question I don't already know the answer to. Because I'll look it up first before posting. I ask the question to see what people respond with. And to be honest, it's mostly out of ignorance.
