Note that's what they led off the segment with. Something that looks like an airplane.
The footage later in the segment, and the movements and clusters that people are reporting, do not look like airplanes. Or behave like airplanes.
I suppose they didn't want to freak people out.
But, I'm surprised they're reporting it at all, and don't seem to have much in the way of counter-narrative to present. Usually NBC News is more, um, "thorough", so the way they're reporting it might be the more unique aspect of this particular sighting.
These things seem to be popping up everywhere, huh? Take a look at the comment section on the YouTube video. Lots of "hey, they're here too!" chime-ins.
