And yet the body of the op mostly refers to mass. Mass is mass. Weight is gravity applied to mass. Not the same thing.
If there is a reduction of weight only, then you still have to deal with the inertia of the mass. If there is a reduction of mass, both weight and inertia are also reduced. This is very important when moving large objects like huge stones. Weight reduction would only apply to lifting but not moving them other than less friction.
Which is it, mass or weight reduction?
