What you put out is what you get back. We attract like frequencies.

I understand your premise and could believe your theories on the benevolence of extra-terrestrial life. I'd certainly like to believe in nice alien teachers here for our good as a species. I just happen to be more pessimistic (or more realistic) and find it hard to believe that they don't want or need something from us. I think it is far more likely that aliens will take what they want from lower lifeforms like humans that are below them on the chain.

The cat's instinct is fear of containment and lack of freedom. These things are death for a wild animal and millions of years of evolution has proven this instinct to be valuable for survival and the perpetuation of the species. That last trip to the vet will mean death and you never know what trip will be the last.

Predators only see us as food or a threat and will kill us if they felt like it, so you are either predator or prey. Livestock is treated pretty well by humans and their trust of us is repaid with a trip to the slaughterhouse. We can be nice if it suits our needs, but there are no free lunches and being at the top of the food chain makes us dangerous and untrustworthy.

I had another thought, one that is not so bleak, an instinct that encourages symbiotic relationships in wildlife. We could end up having a relationship with ETs like we have with gut bacteria. Or we could co-exist as parasites like round worms or ticks on a host animal. I'd rather be something more like a dust mite living unnoticed in a hair follicle.

@MichSwampbuck

Well the way I look at it, if you've already conquered time and space and who knows what else...why would you be a predatory species? If they were, why not just wipe us out instantly?

OR

Maybe they are interdimensional beings that go out and try to make contact with species they see potential in, and possibly had a hand in creating.

My own experiences say they are here to help in a way, but not override us as a collective. Again, they keep distance and block memories sometimes. It has been said in the abductee/ contactee community that they're concerned about the psychological trauma they present to us, but they do feel they have the right to do whatever they're doing, be that teaching, healing, hybridizing genetics etc.

I don't know all the why and wherefore of what they think and do, but I don't think it's sinister.

All creatures great and small and other energy entities, like black holes, are simply converting one form of energy to another and so it goes on for eternity. If this is nature or the nature of reality, then no morality will exist.

Too many gods, too many stories, not enough time.

Morality always exists. We have the capacity for abstract thought, unlike your cat.

What was the first line of Bhagavad Gita again? Does it not remind us that we make choices in the field of right and wrong?
