Had not seen this posted and still reading it myself, but for those interested in reading on NDE's, well have this treat from Scientific America...

Unbelievable, I just watched this last night, and have been thinking about it since.
My Mom had an NDE at one point (I can’t remember whether it was before or after I was born, and she has since passed) and told me that she was told that she had to come back, she wasn’t finished her tasks.

I keep going back and forth .... are the NDEs real experiences and proof of afterlife, or are they hallucinations as the brain is dying and tripping on chemicals released while the body dies. Could be either.

I ask people who have had an NDE and say the "its nothing, just darkness", were you there?, was your consciousness there?, do you even understand Hermetic philosophy?.
This is why Im not invited to parties.
If you're there only as your conscious mind, you could create any world you want.
I havnt posted about my NDE's here on DI, butI dont think you need that account.

I suppose these kinds of discussion all follow patters of flow which appear again and again...
I, and or others, share personal accounts of NDEs; then those disinclined to accept them as valid experiences of reality refute them as 'personal' in nature.
Some will cite ideological supports, religions, myths, other will attribute the ultimate weakness of scientific inability to relate to the events... lack of hard measurable data.
Both will extrapolate end-points based upon that position by which they are most comforted.
It seems pertinent to acknowledge that these experience are among those commonly reported in human history, over and over... they appear in art, in many different ways, from elaborate tales like the adventure of Ebenezer Scrooge, to Colonel Kurts' devastating "The horror, the horror" in Apocalypse Now, and finally to Dr. Weyland's "There's nothing, there's nothing!" lament to his android David in Alien Covenant.
Perhaps it is a matter of dream interpretation, perhaps it is an 'edge of understanding' and a mind's straining to interpret that which has no form, and no depth.
I find this fascinating! Great topic!

I had a major stroke on 2009. All were the result of sports concussions. I was in three hospitals for 32 total days. Initially I was blind and I could not walk. What I can tell you is that in my opinion we live on after death, I am not afraid to die and I also believe in God. I have also experienced the energy of unconditional warmth of divine loving bliss. Many NDE's also experience that. Many told me that its Gods love.
Heres one link as I have contacted them for my story as an experiencer.

I have also been interviewed by Dr. David Hufford. I am not a combat veteran.

, just on this. bit If their conscious enough to know they exist, are they nothing or really unimaginative?.
I thought for a few years that my NDE followed an Egiptian procession of the dead because I have been there and influenced by what I saw when there. Years later I tell a friend about my weighing of the heart to the feather, she had her jaw dropped, then tells me she went thru the same weighing of the soul as I had. She had no previous knowledge of the egyptian sht, and no lineage to be a cultural or intergenerational thing.
If it were some cleche Jesus type dude I could understand it being influenced by our pop culture, but Thoth and Osiris to someone who had no idea those entities even existed--did make me wonder if its not just what we know and create...

Thanks, I am familiar with the University of Virginia med school research, and there is some great data they have gathered. It seems like they are the only credible western university looking into the topic of NDE's and past lives, which are not mutually exclusive, but you knew that.

I would welcome an exploration of the topic from the 'common experience' angle... especially as you just described it.
The 'measuring' of the individual is a common thing, but it's form varies wildly...
I wonder if the aboriginals of the world ever experience NDE's and how they rationalize them... I refer to people who are not products of a technological society or societal form.

I also was videoed videoed by York University London, UK relating to Sleep Paralysis as I had had near 1000 lifteime episodes with visitations by the "The Guardian of the Threshold" [Reference - Rudolf Stenier] His last visit was in December 2018 as I began to pray to God. When I have it again I now ask Jesus for help and it stops immediately. My last SP episode was 31Jan2022.
I am also trying to get in contact with a consutation with Dr. Diana Walsh of UNC- Wilmington. Her PhD was in Religion from Syracuse University She also studied at the Vatican and has a connection with Dr. Gary Nolan, Stanford Univeristy and Dr. Jacquees Valle, University of Paris.
This is all TBD.
In my opinion in this field of NDE the wagons are beginning to circle internationally to promote the truth as many in adcademia are now awakened to the fact that something spiritual is ongoing that science cant explain. They are using studies based on data to toss back at those in charge.
The MSM will keep it supressed as all governments want it supressed and as per the WhyFi video they said that for 150 years all governments wanted religion supressed. That 150 also seems to coincide with when the Vatican stopped traing their priests on Sleep Paralysis to dump it into the hands of shrinks.
Wrong move as the chickens are now coming home to roost like back in the days of Greek Mythology and other ancient times ~ egypt.
Same goes for UFO's

I have talked to people with TWO distinct neat death experiences.
It's like dreams vs blacking out.
Some are dead for 11 minutes and remember collapsing and then waking up in the hospital. Others have these grand and profound, but heavily subjective experiences.
Something never covered that bugs me, is while they touch on the worldwide phenomenon they don't tell how each is representative of local culture.
Would a Hindu's ascension into the divine form look like a many-headed Jimi Hendrix album cover where a Christian would see fluffy white clouds, angels, and golden gates, or even a lake of fire? I actually don't know what an NDE would be like with reincarnation, but I'm pretty sure people not imprinted with a Christian heaven aren't seeing it.
It's so dependent on what the near-death narrative is that it makes me think NDEs are similar to the trip of a Shaman, right down to the ingestion of DMT (dream chemical also found in nature that induces profound hallucinations)
It's always landed in the spectrum for me. It's like, you will see what you want too.
The pleasure chemicals released at death may play a role, and some have so much released its like "dreaming into death."
I know thats an unbeliever buzzkill position to take, but it makes most sense to me. Especially with how much what happens at death varies across cultures.
