Let's take a virtual walk together
#1
There are those friends among us who either don't want to go out (who could blame them!) or have mobility issues that make going out difficult.   Brother/Sister/Other I have been there!   So I thought it might be a nice idea for us to contribute virtual tours, and in doing so, we might learn more about other places.   It can be a driving tour video, a walking tour, a boating tour, amusement parks -- whatever blows your hair back. I want everyone to be mindful/careful of disclosing personal information;  you don't want to say, "this is the river just down the road from my house."  it's a different world than I grew up in, but we must adapt.

Change is pain
Pain is growth
Growth is life
Grow together

There are various places in the world I've been and have wanted to show my Sweetheart;  it seems unlikely that we will go to those places, unless the world gets a WHOLE lot more cooperative with each other, and MUCH less likely to go cray-cray and blow each other up.   I wish I could show her Scotland.   I wish I could show her the Aurora Borealis.   I wish I could show her Italy and the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness of Idaho and Washakie Pass/Lizard Head Peak in Wyoming.

So, I am hoping that we can put down our political sabers for just a few moments and post some videos that we can vicariously enjoy other places.   Such a lot of world to see.  Yes, that's right.  I'm not above pinching movie theme songs.

I'll start off with a vid of Kayaking the South Fork of the Salmon River.

Here we have a walking tour of the Queen Elizabeth II Botannical Park in Grand Cayman.   Home of the Blue Iguanas -- the only place in world in which they live.   You can see them at 27 minutes.  The only thing I have to add is that in the old days, the separate kitchen wasn't called a "kitchen", it was called a caboose.  Some historic occupied homes in the Cayman Islands still have a working caboose.

Thanks for thinking of this... my wife once asked me for a collection of these... (I never thought about making a thread!)

Great Idea!!!...

Long walks, interesting vistas...

what's not to like?

Wind River Range, Washakie Range, near Lizardhead Peak.   This is where I will someday carry my father's ashes per his wishes, and illegally install a bronze plaque saying who he was and that he was here.  For him, this was God's Country, because it was beautiful and unforgiving of fools.

A walk through sacred land in Salmon Idaho.   I recognize most of these places, or at least the lay of the land where I once as a boy I ran wild.   It was a great place to grow up.

Nobody wants to show off their state/providence's cool walking places?   Okay.  Here's skydiving over the Bahamas!! weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!   I did about 40 jumps when I was a yewt.  There is nothing like it for me.   I wouldn't do it now.   I always landed perfectly, even the first jump.

Genoa, Italy walking tour.   It's an amazing city, with incredible architecture, like most of Italy and Europe.
