Quote:The actor - who appeared in TV series Walker, Texas and films such as The Way Of The Dragon - passed away on Thursday evening after being hospitalised in Hawaii.
It is understood he suffered a medical emergency while on the island of Kauai, northwest of O’ahu, just days after his birthday.
His family have revealed the cause of his death and are currently keeping the circumstances private.
However they did say he was "surrounded by his family and was at peace."

"Yet so it is, we see the illiterate bulk of mankind that walk the high-road of plain common sense, and are governed by the dictates of nature, for the most part easy and undisturbed. To them nothing that is familiar appears unaccountable or difficult to comprehend."

It's a very sad day indeed to hear Chuck Norris has sadly passed away.
Quote:Legendary actor Chuck Norris has died aged 86 following a sudden medical emergency in Hawaii
The tough guy and martial arts icon passed away Thursday morning, his family announced in a post on Instagram.
'It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning,' the family said.
'While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and at peace.'
It is unclear what medical emergency the actor suffered.
His family paid tribute to Norris as a 'devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family.'
'He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives.'
Norris was best known for action roles including 'Walker, Texas Ranger' and 'The Delta Force' in the 1980s, and became a cult figure on social media in his later years.

'I’m 86 today! Nothing like some playful action on a sunny day to make you feel young. I’m grateful for another year, good health, and the chance to keep doing what I love.
'Thank you all for being the best fans in the world. Your support through the years has meant more to me than you’ll ever know. God Bless, Chuck Norris.'
In his family's Instagram post announcing his passing, Norris was praised for having 'lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved.
'Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives.'
Norris had largely stayed out of acting roles in his later years, but made minor cameos in action flicks including 'The Expendables 2.'

Norris was born in Oklahoma in 1940, and served in the US Air Force from 1958 to 1962.
He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1989, and became a cult-like figure in the fitness and action industries.
His first wife Dianne Holecheck passed away in December. The pair married in 1958 and shared two children, Mike, an actor, and NASCAR champion Eric Norris.
Norris and Holecheck separated in 1988, the same year he married Gena O'Kelly, and they had twins Dakota and Danilee in 2001. He also had a daughter in 1962 in an extramarital relationship.
Norris's family said in their tribute that the actor was 'deeply grateful for the life he lived.'

He (like Bruce Lee) bought Martial Arts to the masses, and also had a great movie and TV career.

RIP Chuck.  Like most, I was surprised to find out he was in his 80's.  He was an inspiration for many and I wish him Godspeed.

Six degrees of separation:  Chuck studied Tang Soo Do under Grand Master Shin and I share a martial arts lineage with him.  Now teacher and student are united again.  Things will probably get real interesting in that Dojang in the sky.

Chuck Norris has been dead for a year, the Grim Reaper just now got the courage to come get him.

Rest in peace...

Norris did so much to reveal that martial arts is not a 'racial' thing.

Back in the early days, Hollywood wouldn't show this kind of thing in theatrical productions unless it affirmed the stereotypes and tropes about "orientals" that they had been producing for generations...

But legendary artists like Norris, Lee, and many others helped to break the "imagery" of ticket-sales and social engineering...

I think it was good that he was at home with his family... but I still think I may risk a joke or two about what happens when Chuck shows up at the gates...

So sad, RIP Chuck Norris. I really enjoyed watching him in Walker, Texas Ranger. I thought he was hot back then. I had no idea he was 86. I thought maybe he was in his early 70's. He took really good care of himself.

Clint Eastwood is 95

Dick Van Dyck is 100

Mel Brooks is 99

.....but with all the drugs in Hollywood and the music industry, it could be anybody.
