Cheers and thanks to one of the most influential songwriters of his generation.

And a hell of an actor to boot!
Sorry to see yet another legend passing.

Grew up having to listen to all the "classic" country stars from the 70's and 80's.

When country was still country.
The earth provides everything we need.
We thought we could do better.
We were wrong.

KK was an epic artist, and we seem to be losing more of them than we are finding...

Thanks for letting us know...

(at least for me, avoiding mainstream media, I'm often behind the curve in keeping abreast of this kind of news, sad though it is.)

That's too bad. I'm seeing the names of all sorts of influential people passing away these days. One of the first things that came to mind here is still that old Convoy movie from the 70s – he was the Rubber Duck. I remember the Convoy theme song by C. W. McCall being quite popular on the radio at around the same time as well.

Hence the quote above (from the movie "Convoy")

Very sad indeed. He was a National Treasure. One of the best songwriters in our lifetime, the guy wrote so many great songs for other people. RIP Kris.

Oh man, I saw that movie like 45 years ago when I was maybe like ten years old; didn't remember the quote, or much else for that matter. I even had to verify that it was actually Kris Kristofferson that I was remembering (I was pretty sure it was).
