Yea I always deny when I screw up and make myself look like an idiot too. Do the fact checkers even try anymore...we all know they haven't in ages. Their source to debunk the claim is the spokes person...not even her...denied their boss said the obviously wrong statement. Because that's super trust worthy...and when the government investigates itself it actually tries to see if it was wrong...

Yeah, I didn't even look at the fact-checker link  I was mostly deferring to TSK's position as DI Chief #1 and #2, Im on a journey of my own personal transition to discover my true self. A journey where I endeavor to be more civil and appreciative of diverse and unique opinions and learn to express myself in a manner that is more conducive to productive dialog with all identities. 

but yes fact-checking has become so convoluted, that the fact-checking sites have to be fact-checked.

Use ta be no such thing as fact checking. The newspapers would just lie their ass off and no one knew.
Then alternative news sites started getting out the grassroots truth and we can't have that
So they were mixed in with nutbag new age fantasy conspiracy sites
Then you had to dig even harder to find the truth
Then They noticed no one liked the legacy news anymore cuz they were caught with said lying.
So they introduced fact check which just means trust us and only follow what we tell you is the truth, ie 'we are lying again' 
So I guess I will go back to the alt sites I never left and just have to take things with a fine tooth grain of comb salt.

It's that we appear to conform to not discerning the fact... ever.

No news reporter ever says... "My editorial staff has scripted this for me to read to you."  No article demonstrates how many 'editorial' insertions or deletions have occurred.  No politician admits that everything he speaks of is a topic he has been "briefed" about... that most speeches are someone else's work...

It's entrenched behavior, I think.

"Appear" to be one thing... but "be" something else.

And they ruined search so that it is even harder to find link to sites that are more unbiased.   Or at least provide an alternative to the MSM narrative.

Oh yeah ! Web search is beyond useless.
You literally get the same article over and over and over, and never any personal sites, or blogs.  
I switched to yandex which helps with more personal stuff but it's also got a lot of junk too. But at this rate I think junk is better than streamlined centralised monopolised regurgitated MSM speak.
