Jimmy Kimmel pulled from the air over false comment about Kirk murder
(09-24-2025, 08:07 AM)Vermilion Wrote: Sinclair and Nexstar are the gatekeepers for over 300,000,000 American viewers.

That's tripe and nonsense, and you know it.

Sinclair and Nexstar don't control 300 million Americans eyeballs like some cartoon supervillain.

They're station owners, not mind-control satellites.

Most viewers in this day of age get news and entertainment from streaming, cable, satellite, podcasts, YouTube, and social media.

Saying Sinclair/Nexstar are "gatekeepers" for your whole country is like saying Walmart is the gatekeeper of food because they own lots of stores.

People have options Vermillion, like it or lump it.

And your silly claim only works if you squint hard and ignore how media consumption actually works in this day of age.  Saint2

I don't need to try again, I'm not here to do your homework.

Or do i need to explain how the burden of proof functions around these here parts?

Little hint same as ATS.

You make the claim the onus is on you to provide supporting evidence.

20+ million YouTube subscriptions can't be wrong.

Let's deal with the actual numbers and facts which you have yet to present. LoL

Edit: 21.1M subscribers now.  Saint2

Still waiting on you to provide a shred of evidence to support your claim.

Why do you think people subscribe if not to watch? LoL

They don't control any households.

That's your fantasy, not a reality.

They own TV stations.

And people have choices which extend a hell of a lot further than conventional TV.

Unless you are old and cannot work the remote control properly.

In the grand scheme of things, most of those stations are apt to go down the drain, and be replaced with streaming services, as you very well know.

Jimmy is back, and you don't like the fact.

Pretty much ha'ha.  Saint2

People in those places can easily watch him on YouTube, and it appears they did.

"It's important to remember that people are watching television on the internet these days. On the show's official YouTube channel, Jimmy Kimmel Live! segments can average 3 million views."

Those numbers were before Kimmel returned, so I guess the youtube stats on his return show aren't out yet.
