It’s Ok To Say Goodbye…
#11
Time relentlessly marches on...

The collection of our common purpose was elevated for a time (yet it might feel all too brief.)

The shared compulsion to know, to compare, to catalog, and to curate, was a simultaneous offering to us all, from us all.
I cherished the opportunity presented to enrich everyone willing to listen, to see, and to speak freely and honestly.

For a precious span of time there was no pressure to agree, no overt design squelching dissenting views, no shame for dissent, no plastic virtue signaling, or inflated narcissism of identity or position.

Sadly, it proved only a temporary experiment (as most things in life are,)
Certainly there was contention, but it generally didn't manifest in brutish idiocy, obtuse exploitation, or childish adolescent angst.

At some point, we all recover from the absence of the old home...
we remain poised to continue... and we are committed,
because this community is not a product of commercial lust, nor a front for transient ideology and faddish activism.

The community is still here, and while that old legendary vehicle may be gone... we have created a better field of dreams...
and I dare say it will take more than any single person or agency can muster, to make our community to go away.

As long as we can continue in honest inquiry and dialogue... there will never be an end.

The tale has some heroes, and some villains... but then, those are features of most all human endeavors...
Forget the passed foibles and the petty squabbles... they are as dead as the old home seems to be.

Weep not for the change... one way or another, it was always coming.
Even if someone were to attempt a miraculous renewal... that ship has sailed.  They can't ever "go home again."

Be encouraged... as we have seen... the earnest have done a magnificent job at salvaging much of what could have been lost...
and someday they may be able to render what was lost into something we can all enjoy again, should it be desired.
But that is a venture for the boldly committed and able.  Time will tell.

Be well, stay focused, and remember to continue.

Hey old friend, we met years ago while you were so vibrant and young, young minds have creations, creations of love and happiness.

The watchtower of your life brought much learning to the many great hidden minds of ages, ages of all.

You have expanded time, thoughts and love in so many ways.

We will all miss your flags of honor and stars of love. Before your misery grew so hollow, someone shut the gate, the gate of many and the gate wisdom.

Thank you for opening the eyes of so many friends along your journey. You will be missed. We found a new brighter home with less commotion…

A song left for you…

That was pure and heartfelt.    I lost a good friend in r/l last week, and this is no different.   A person or entity should be respected and loved when we say goodbye.   Thank you.

Thank you kindly for everything you said! I am sorry about your friend! May his memory be a blessing.

I will send you a virtual burger. Not in and out. They don’t have it in Michigan
Be kind to everyone!
