They died while in Palestinian custody.  So it's the fault of the Palestinians.
When their bodies were returned to Israel today, the Palestinians were having a party around them.

Hamas has turned over the bodies of four slain Israeli hostages more than 500 days after the terrorist group's Oct. 7, 2023, attack in Israel.  Hamas said the bodies would include Shiri Bibas and her two toddlers, Ariel and Kfir, as well as Oded Lifshitz, a retired journalist and activist. Their identities will be confirmed in Israel, which could take up to 48 hours.
 
At the time of their kidnapping, Shiri was 32 years old, Ariel was 4 years old and Kfir was 9 months old. Their father, Yarden, was also kidnapped by Hamas, but survived and was released on Feb. 1.  Lifshitz, a retired journalist and activist, was 83 years old when he and his then 85-year-old wife, Yocheved, were kidnapped from their home. She was released on Oct. 23, 2023.

The transfer took place in front of a large crowd near Khan Younis at around 9 a.m. local time on Thursday. The crowd was reportedly cheering when Hamas arrived carrying four black coffins in four separate cars.  "As the bodies of four Israeli hostages are transferred by Hamas to the Red Cross, hundreds of ‘innocent Gazans’ dance to music, and happily film this tragic event," Israel's Government Press Office wrote on X. "Speechless doesn’t begin to describe how this makes us feel."

So after Israel tested the DNA of the bodies released, it turns out that the two childrens bodies were released, but the body of the mother, Shiri Bibas, was not.   Hamas claimed it was her that was released, but in reality it was an anonymous body of an unknown person.

The Palestinians lied and violated the ceasefire agreement ... again.

No surprise.   

But really, the Palestinians are idiots. 
They didn't think that Israel would test the DNA of the corpses that they were handed?

Hamas's intention is for the cease-fire to fail and the fighting in Gaza to resume. Bearing in mind Hamas undertook the October 7 2023 attacks to offset the impact of the Abraham Accords. Hamas's biggest fear was the remote chance of moving towards a workable Middle East Peace process.

Nor did Hamas have any reason to fear regime change in Gaza. Considering how regime change fared in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya, they are content to play the long game.

Trump's lunatic and unethical Gaza also plays into Hamas's hands. By attempting to remove Palestinians from Gaza, the nutty right of return to pre-1948 areas will be extended for another 80 years.

Lastly, the only way Gaza Palestinians have a viable future is if a splinter group overthrows Hamas and makes peace with Israel. However, what would it take if Gaza's destruction isn't enough to reveal a successful version of Stauffenberg? (Stauffenberg was one of the plotters behind the failed July 20 1944 plot to kill Hitler).

This is what happens when people simply "do as their told."

They were told to rejoice... that it was a virtuous expression... "exalt in the pain and suffering of your enemy"... and that's how anyone can make use of the "virtue" they sell to their audience. 

This is not about virtue...
it's not about justice,
it's not about what's "right"...

it's about the exaltation of hate... 

It doesn't suffice that you destroy and kill... you must make it a "good" thing... Dance, sing, smile!... "that will 'teach' our enemies!"

Does that sound plausible?
I'm having difficulties with this line of reasoning.
