A very interesting trend has emerged on the labor market in the civilized world. Despite the fact that there is a catastrophic shortage of labor, particularly in Russia, which is why salaries are growing exponentially, many employers categorically refuse to hire people who are under 30 years old...
Moreover, workers born between 1997 and 2012 are among the first to be fired, according to data published on the Intelligent.com website. What is the reason? The fact is that this category of people turned out to be completely unadapted to the realities of the modern economy.
60% of companies were forced to fire workers in this age group within a year of hiring, and now they are looking for older workers to replace them, or distributing responsibilities among the remaining staff. Moreover, many managers said that even in the conditions of a severe crisis, they are not going to hire people from the 2000s generation.
Well, let's talk a little more about the reasons for this phenomenon. The main complaint of employers is that young people do not work for results, but rather "for fun" and "leave me alone". Young people absolutely do not know how to communicate, and do not know how to find a common language with their colleagues. They tried to teach newcomers, they were assigned senior mentors to pass on experience, but this did not help them either.
"For most young workers, the problems mentioned are not some shortcomings of a specific individual. These are precisely the shortcomings of the generation as a whole, which cannot be corrected by any mentoring or retraining," explains the head of Intelligence.com, Huey Nguyen. "The knowledge and skills with which they enter the labor market absolutely do not meet the requirements needed for successful work."
But that's not all, employers have formulated a whole list of complaints about Generation Z, from the inability to dress for the workplace (which is important for working in an office), to regular lateness to work. Also, young people cannot clearly and distinctly express their thoughts. But the worst thing, according to managers, is that zoomers consider it beneath their dignity to learn from "old people" and because of this, in principle, they cannot be "reforged".
The reasons for this behavior are not only that young people are constantly on social networks. The coronavirus epidemic has also left its mark, people, being isolated, have forgotten how to communicate like human beings.
This post echoes the previous one a little, perhaps this is why it is easier to work as a courier than a normal job.
Here I have already sometimes begun to think about retirement, but it seems I will have to work some more, since such things are happening. There are still many "wonderful discoveries" ahead of us. It's unbelievable, but true...
By the way, in Russia there are now a huge number of vacancies for people aged 50+, with a salary of 300 thousand rubles per month (more than 3000 dollars), which according to PPP is several times more than in the USA.

Under 30 years old, I was a failure at my job too. That was before I realized the job of a teacher wasn't for me. I can't stand children and I have no idea how to cope with them. I switched to nursing. After the period of taking care of my grandmother, I concluded that working in nursing homes would be better for me. Perhaps, being a nursing assistant is not as "prestigious" as a post of a teacher in the eyes of the society but it's definitely less stressful. After struggling at school, it's kind of a relief for me.
Doing the work you're not fit for is a nightmare. Finding your own place in life is a relief. I think this is the root of the problems of young people; being where they shouldn't be, applying for the jobs that aren't for them. I read some articles about generation Z. In my opinion, these are all generalizations. Certainly, there are lazy and irresponsible people but most often young people must find their own place at the job market. It takes time. People enter the job market with sometimes unrealistic expectations and false assessments of their own capabilities. Life verifies it all. With the passage of time you learn your own limits and also your strengths.

Maybe the profession you are offered does not meet the expectations and demands of the market? I understand that caring for the elderly, caring for animals and other volunteer work are socially in demand. But the market decides everything. The problem is that leftist trends do not meet market demands. We need to achieve harmony through socialization and responsibility of business, when it becomes profitable for it to invest in social programs. But communism has nothing to do with it, since it destroys everything it touches.

While I agree with everything you've said, I would like to add...
Prior generations generally sucked at providing a guiding influence on newer generations. It may have had to do with the cultural impulses to 'bury oneself in ones career' or to be single-minded in anything but teaching the younger generations value lessons about life... but in the end, we have a problem... younger generations can't relate to the 'new' demands of older employers... who think of their own foibles as common sense - even when they weren't.
There's a lot of wisdom in pursuing what feels right... but many were offered other ambitions to pursue, couched in fantasy... and here we are.
