I support abortion because I don't think rapists should be allowed to be fathers

Single mother -- 2 minor children.

How do I go to court?  Who's going to take care of my kids if I have to spend time in court?

How do I prove rape from someone I once had a relationship with?

Neighborhood gossip -- would affect my children's mental health and social life.

In case anyone wonders why women don't always report it.  Reality is not writing on a piece of paper.

At least -- he never bothered me again.

Actually -- there is not one unselfish reason to have a child.

In my case the welfare of my 2 living children was the major factor.

You said you despise children and want to force women to have abortions.

Doesn't matter which side of the abortion debate a person is on ... doesn't matter is a person is atheist or religious ... everyone pretty much agrees your position is insane and the reason why women don't want you is because of ... YOU.

I'm pretty sure if you go to the police straight away they can determine rape from DNA, signs of forced entry etc.

I understand your point about the neighbourhood gossip - in my opinion it's best to just 'own it' - confront the gossip head on - say yes this happened and yea I reported it, no one takes advantage of me this way and gets away with it.

This gives people a new perspective, gains a little respect from others, knocks the whispering on the head and sets a good, strong example to your children.

If more women spoke out, openly, about things like this, I reckon that'd become a deterrent to men - they'd be more likely to think twice if they know you're going to shout about it.  Men like your ex are reliant on you keeping quiet.

As for the court question, assuming you live in America, I found the below information which might help you in future:

For Everyday Care While a Parent Testifies:
  • Family & Friends: Often, trusted grandparents, aunts, uncles, or close family friends will step in to care for the child.
  • Professional Care: Babysitters, daycare providers, or nannies are common choices.
  • Court-Appointed Support: In sensitive cases, the court might arrange for someone suitable to care for the child during the testimony.

I would like to hope that rape would come under 'sensitive cases' and therefore court-appointed support would apply.

Not these neighbors.

A semi-wealthy self-righteous nose in the air in a cul-de-sac judgy group.

Being a single mom was irritation enough for them.

Stuff sure looks good on paper.  Doesn't it?

BTW -- this was about 1978 -- before the Me Too movement.

I sympathise with them.

I'd rather live next door to elderly or single people. Not a single mom.

It just was.

The less they knew about my business the better.
