"Sadly, you know, everyone dies in the end."
"It’s just how you go, right?"
Quote:Reform UK’s housing spokesperson Simon Dudley has been sacked by the party following comments he made about the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
Dudley sparked fury this week after comments he made to Inside Housing about the 2017 fire, which claimed the lives of 72 people.
He told the magazine that Grenfell was a “tragedy” and a “failure” but that “sadly, you know, everyone dies in the end.”
“It’s just how you go, right,” he added.
Dudley then said: “You can’t stop tragic things happening. You can try to minimise excesses, but bad things do happen.”
The comments received widespread condemnation, with Keir Starmer describing them as “shameful” and London Mayor Sadiq Khan saying Dudley’s words were “sickeningly insensitive.”
I really don't know where to start with this horrible, crass b@stard.
His comments on Grenfell weren't just stupid....they are vile.
Saying "everyone dies in the end" after 72 people perished shows a staggering lack of basic human decency.
The sheer audacity to frame a preventable tragedy as inevitable screams entitlement and moral bankruptcy.
Even after apologising, his words reek of self-interest.
Defending housebuilding over life.
Nothing but a grotesque, arrogant little gremlin, devoid of human empathy.

It appears his lack of empathy showed itself previously.
"No stranger to controversy, he sparked an outcry as Conservative leader of Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council, when he called for "aggressive begging" to be tackled ahead of Harry and Meghan's wedding. He said street begging caused a hostile atmosphere for tourists, adding it could present Windsor in a "sadly unfavourable light" on the big day. More than 100,000 people signed a petition condemning the remark, and then-PM Theresa May said in January 2018: "I don't agree with the comments that the leader of the council has made."
Like the party leader, Mr Dudley's background was in finance and banking, with a 30 year career including work at HSBC, Svenska Handelsbanken and Citigroup Global Markets. He also worked on the £16billion purchase of Heathrow Airport Holdings in 2006."

With wealth and power comes arrogance (?) This guy seems to also show contempt for others lives and/or sufferings, or is this parroting your royalty there?

I have to wonder about the social disconnect that some very important appointees and committee members so often on display. These presumptive "popular" leaders all display wildly disparate often amplified deficiencies...
and the ideology harmonics are the only thing that makes them tolerable.
When threatened, confronted, or imperiled by ugliness ... I have sensed a pattern in that the news-cycle of the world becomes: ... "speak of those we all hate... (you know, that other person, those other people.")
I wonder if there is any value to that observation?
It's no different in the UK as it is here, it would seem.
People believe that the words of 'leadership position' employees should always soothe and comfort.
Or alternatively, 'build' and 'cultivate' all those things which seem virtuous...
And yet.. it has never happened that there was a saint in public office - anywhere.
When your entire world is predicated upon someone telling you to make sure you say this, make sure you say that, promote the political doctrine of the party, evade our own faults and flaws, encourage the recognition of the faults and flaws of all who disagree with doctrine. Never interfere with "party" business or "party' plans. Smile, be impressive, look good...
AND pretend you are the leader for all those who wish you to lead... regardless.
Your sources all suck... (I am not referring to the 'media' in the 'medium')... I'm talking about people who weaponize "serving the people" for the gain of a few... or one.
This guy's comment seemed distant and removed from the social understanding of a community leader...
I really would have been surprised if his career could survive such a thing...
Are your Commissioners elected or ultimately "appointed" by a party, who picked him to back?

Just my opinion, but i suggest that wealth and power can indeed make arrogance more likely in some people.
The question is, do they amplify traits already present in that person?

I helped, along with a team I put together, the survivors and firemen of that disaster.
The firemen were made scapegoats.
RBKC was/is corrupt to the core.
The NHS were absolutely dispicable and also complicit to the cover up in regards to the survivors.
I don't like to speak ill of anyone, but this man is a pig and I hope he rots in hell.

Nasty specimen of a human being.
As to the Firemen telling residents to remain in their flats, thus being made scapegoats.
They were hardly privy to the fact that the outside of the building was clad in flammable material.
They were the visible frontline service, hence the silly criticism and finger poking.

Well... it happens....
.....
Clearly a dick thing to say.
And I too have witnessed the game of 'shifting' the spotlight towards a preferred hero, in a field of heroes.
I can only say that I am sorry you had to witness that...
I spoke out... and was ostracized for it.
This is a cloister kind of thing, a cliche 'membership' game... that apparently must never be acknowledged as a source of 'bullying' or your out.
There was a surprise ending so...
"the truth will out," as some have said...
Sorry to be so 'into' the dialogue, I'm not a subject... but I still care, and appreciate the content...

I’m always gruesomely curious at comments and “faux pas” such as this.
Its like, how the can someone be so vile and out of touch, let alone openly uncouth in public eye or representative of said public.
Personally I don’t understand it; the bare lace of empathy and compassion for people and life (or loss of it) in general.
Then I think of how the political and corporate world are structured nowadays, rewarding psychopaths with no principles outside of personal regard.
Take a look at how glyphosate was deemed a national security issue compared to how a whale in the Gulf of Mexico is deemed a national security threat by a crew of thugs named the God Squad….
this world is shite and this timeline sucks.
