How is the Government shut-down affecting you?

I support LIVING CHILDREN -- including health care and education for ALL children.

My social security check arrived on time.  I'm OK this month.

If you need more food I just watched a CEO of one of your food markets saying he will ramp up his donations to food banks.

I don’t know how long you’ve been on SS but it’s either ….

A) not that long
B) you’re pretending to be ignorant of the fact that your SS checks never were affected by a shutdown.

Trump's been trying to close the Food Banks.  The senior center lost their funding for food distribution.

There are still a few places -- but since Trump stuck his nose in -- the amount I used to get is about half.

Most stuff is either expired or nearing expiration.

Keep believing that.

Ah I see.
B is the correct answer.

B) you’re pretending to be ignorant of the fact that your SS checks never were affected by a shutdown.

It seems the longer the shutdown continues the more effects will be felt...mostly delays. Delayed checks means no money over a period of time.

How does recovery look to you ANNEE? Will it just be a small climbing back up to what it was in Jan. 2025?

Well - if a Democrat gets elected next -- it will be his/her fault -- never Trumps.

When things are chipped away -- they are never 100% recovered.

Anyone raising a child -- you better make sure they understand "Survival of the Fittest" and money is more valuable than compassion.

Did you even read that? There's an entire section specifically saying:

Quote:Social Security and Medicare checks will keep coming

During a government shutdown, essential services and federal benefits continue to operate, and that includes Social Security and Medicare. You’ll continue to receive your standard Social Security and Medicare payments.

Mind you, I sometimes think there ought to be a law that if Congress can't pass a budget, Social Security cheques will be the first thing that is suspended. That would stop the shenanigans! I can imagine Congress running in fear from the greyhead lynchmob.... They wouldn't dare play these games! Lol

The source I posted said the longer this goes on there is a higher possibility that checks will be delayed. Delayed money means not having the money when you need it.

Sorry, I didn't see that bit. I re-read, and I still don't. I saw no possibility of benefit cheque disruption being fearmongered. Quote it please? Thank you.
