On topic.
The question was - How is the Government shut-down affecting you?
The answer is - Most people aren't affected at all.

I am wondering if a relative's student loan payment is going to be processed. They had thought they paid it off completely last month, but the silly accounting software charged 1¢ of interest during the two days it took for them to process the payment. So there is a $0.01 balance on the loan still. They just did an electronic transfer—yes, for $0.01—from their bank account to hopefully close it out, but we're wondering if it will get processed and closed out properly with the shutdown.
Other than that, nothing else comes to mind.

90% of the left's angst, anxiety, and irritation is that they buy 1000% into the media's hysteria over the TRUMP decision du jour, whatever it is ... instead of realizing we have shutdowns 4 times since 2000... and 20 since 1976
AND if one doesn't have their same level of angst, anxiety, and irritation over every issue, incident, or action

Like the farmers who are just now finding out how decisions this administration made affects them.
I think I'm more concerned about recovery.
I agree because the tariff hits are a slow roll, the rising food/gas prices are a slow roll, job losses and loss of manufacturing is a continuing slow roll, and now this shutdown.
How does recovery look to you ANNEE? Will it just be a small climbing back up to what it was in Jan. 2025?

Some are effected. Others are not.
Depends on the food bank.
From AI Assist -
Government Programs Providing Food & Funding
How Government Funding Works- Direct Food Supply:
Programs like TEFAP provide bulk food from the USDA directly to food banks.
- Direct Funding for Services:
The EFSP provides grants to local organizations to cover the costs of providing food and shelter services.
- Hybrid Models:
Many food banks, such as the Food Bank of Delaware, receive funding from a mix of sources, including federal and state government, as well as private foundations, corporations, and individuals.
So much less dramatic than the food banks are going to close immediately, and the old and the needy are going to starve to death...
My state's program is a hybrid as well, since we have an extensive agriculture program, and farmers regularly supply our food banks with surplus produce and protein
The usual procedure is that there may be fewer brands of an item, like spaghetti sauce, and for produce, they will limit the quantities per consumer. It's not ideal, but as long as it's resolved fairly quickly, a few days
Closure and shutdown of food banks is unlikely
Quote:15% of the food bank’s inventory comes from the federal government, which comes by way of USDA commodities, like frozen protein, canned goods, vegetables and grains.
Waide said they learned some lessons in the 2019 government shutdown, like how to focus their donation efforts in the areas and for the families most affected.
“We did special distributions in partnership with employees at TSA with other federal agencies,” said Waide.

Ya think?
I support LIVING CHILDREN -- including health care and education for ALL children.
My social security check arrived on time. I'm OK this month.
