Most of these function usually result in a notification to the other member that their alias has been referenced in another post. This is the function I am asking about, how do we do this?
There are times when you want to acknowledge what someone has said, but it may not be a direct reply to their post. Still, you want the person to know that you've referenced them so they can see the remark. It basically calls that person's attention to the statement.
Hopefully, I've worded this so it makes sense. I can't figure out a better way to say it.

Here, let's try this... if I write your name preceded by an @ it becomes clickable and takes me to you profile page.
I wonder if you will receive a notification that you were tagged.
