They are probably more filled in on the risks than say your average person taking blood thinners or blood pressure meds or anti-depressants etc. or just about anything the pharmaceutical companies push doctors to prescribe.

What it does say is how serious gender dysphoria is for some and the risks they are willing to take to relieve it are worth it any cost.

Transition, HRT and surgery are not a death sentence. There are many trans people in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond that have lived full and productive lives they otherwise wouldn't have without appropriate treatment.

Additionally, there are many socioeconomic factors that can affect a trans person's overall health that are rarely considered.

Yes, I can't imagine how that hormone therapy wrecks havoc on other bodily systems.

Yes, socioeconomic factors can add stress and depression to the mix, and those two together can be deadly.

I think she explained that it isn't as bad as you are making it out to be with the hormone therapy alone, but other factors play into it.

I don't what he or she is saying. One minute it's all a lie. The next it isn't a lie, but they well informed. And some of the blood clot risk looked pretty high to me. But maybe I read it wrong. I am no doctor.

And the idea that some trans have lived into there 70s means absolutely nothing. I know many people with high risk factors to make it to 70. I know a guy right now. 65 years old. Only drinks beer, literally. Starts drink as soon as he gets up and drinks all day, even when he was working.

He had a round with really high blood pressure. Turns out when you mix alcohol and ibuprofen, it runs your blood pressure up. But he had been doing it for years, because of arthritis. You will never guess what the doctor told him to take instead. Even though she knew he is a full blown alcoholic. Acetaminophen, that's right the liver destroying drug when mixed with alcohol.

Well IMO them choosing to live life their way and damn the risks seems to be the most important aspect to take into consideration.

Absolutely!

I have the right to live my life exactly as I please.

People can suggest if they want -- but it's my choice.

No one is born into the wrong body. Its a mental illness and should be treated as such

Well you don't know they are being informed. Since the article I posted clearly said more research is needed. Since this is all new. The idea of Oh! We now accept it, that's why we have a explosion of it is ridiculous. We have had drag queens and sex changes for decades.

No actually you don't have a right to live your life as you please.

Legally you you can't live your life as a drug addict. Unless it's the legal drug dealers drugs.

You can't legally marry 4 people even if all 4 want to do so. You can't legally inflict harm on a person during sex, even if they want it.

In most places you can't legally kill yourself.

You can't legally live on the street anymore.

You can't legally hitchhike on the interstate anymore, even if you want to live life as a nomad.

You can't legally walk around naked, unless you are on a nude beach, which is retarded.

And the list goes on and on. But that is all just off the top of my head.
