Have you had a God encounter?
#1
Have you ever had an encounter with God?
I'm not talking about being moved during a church service.
I'm not talking about getting emotional viewing a grand nature scene.
I'm not talking about an encounter with ghosts or spirits.
I'm talking about direct contact with God Himself ... a true miracle ... actual communication?
Something that can't be possibly written off as coincidence or a trick of the mind?

I've had little things happen that I can't explain and that answered prayers.
And I've had an idea pop into my head from nowhere that suddenly solved a problem.
I've considered these communications from God and miracles.
But I've never had absolute undeniable overwhelming proof of God in an encounter.
Have you?

Good topic.

However, I think many spiritual experiences are personal and sharing them can be meaningful, but not every sacred moment needs to be spoken aloud.

Some are meant to stay quiet and shape you from within so to speak.

I once got help when I needed it the most.

Sure.   Don't have to explain it.
If someone wants to answer with a simple yes or no that's fine.

I'm wondering how many people actually have direct encounters
and the rest of us dont ever hear about it.   Proof.
Not things that can be explained away using science or psychology
but actual hard indisputable proof.
I figured a sample number from here would be interesting.
And if people want to share, they are welcome to ... or not.

Every time I come across tales of a deity bestowing minor miracles, I can't help but chuckle. It seems absurd to praise this imaginary entity for fulfilling trivial desires while children around the globe are left to starve and endure emotional, physical, and sexual abuse.

It was about 98 degrees Fahrenheit and probably 80% plus humidity. The prior aircraft had been shot down trying to resupply U.S. troops on a mountainous ridge line . Not only the resupply ship had crashed but the two Cobra gunships had to break away because of the 37mm gun fire punching big holes in their aircraft. This was Cambodia.

A battalion X.O. came out to the aircraft after we had been loaded with the emergency supplies for the company in the field an briefed us on the frequency for the troops and our new gun ships that would try to cover us. He also pin pointed on a map the Friendly's position along with the reported bad guy positions.

We said yes sir two bags full and got ready to leave.. Bobby my new guy  (FNG) right seater and I were ready to depart when all of a sudden the cockpit got deathly cold. I started to shake from the cold and when I looked a Bobby he was shaking too. WTF just happened was a question neither of us could answer.  I did not fly the mission as briefed but low leveled above the ridge line and found the troops (smoke) and my crew did a kick out of the supplies through the triple canopy jungle . I broke hard left and skimmed the trees and ridge line while Delta 21 was saying we were taking fire.  Needless to say we were not hit by the 37mm or I would not be around to tell this story.

Was the impossible cold a message form God or some other Sky fairy I do not know but I am thankful regardless.

So you think God doesn't exist or that He exists and is a big dick?   Looking around the world at what is happening, I can see how someone could come to that conclusion.   But there are lots of personal anecdotal accounts that counter that.   So which is true?

When terrible things happen (especially when a child is harmed) many people ask, "Why would God allow this?".

But the truth is far more human, and far more uncomfortable because most suffering comes from human choices, not from any higher power.

When a child is harmed, it isn't the will of a higher power. It's a human choice. The person who causes the harm is acting from inner damage, lack of empathy, or unhealed trauma. That brokenness is human, not divine.

Most suffering in this world is created by people.

Oh, and you should also remember this, humanity understands only a tiny slice of reality, and almost every scientific field confirms this!

I have had this happen, a few times. Baptised at age 12 but later on didn't stay on that narrow path. Started partying a lot in my 30's and 40's, and then one night I was contemplating how stupid I was living and I was suddenly taken away in a vision. Too difficult to really talk about that much. I had to defend myself like "I can do better". Christ was there and asked me "How!? How will I live better I had to come up with something fast because the evil one was right there as well taunting me that I couldn't possibly do it.

And the Lord looking at me sternly waiting for me to defend myself, give a good reason why I could keep living. Suffice it to say, I was given the benefit to not be lost right then and there. A lot more was said after that, but just good things.
I had a prior vision to this one, but this second one was a warning, although I was never accused, I obviously knew already why I was there. Only the evil one was accusing.

After all of this, years later still not staying away from bad things, and was given a final vision of the outside view of Hell as a place, like the ugliest dark prison imaginable. Just a vision, likely not representative of the actual thing.

My mother had already passed away when this last vision happened, and when looking upon that dark building, I saw a place where other people were waiting, and she was there and I went up to her. She said "They told me that you lost your happiness".  All I got out was an "I'm sorry",
And then I was slammed back into reality and vision ended.

That happened in 2014, and since then, I have stayed far far away from partying or anything I would would feel guilty about.  So happy and grounded now.

My example is a pathetic showing from myself of receiving all that mercy and kindness from the Lord God, and not reciprocating, but continuing living stupidly, given several visions, when the first one was overwhelmingly good enough to straighten up in life.

But I have to say, seeing a vision of Hell from the outside was enough to wake up and learn from, finally.

(Difficult to talk about, then I spilled my guts).  Lol Lol   Never told anyone these things except my daughter. She knows I am telling the truth. She's a Christian too.  God loves all people.

Yes, I have. It was a powerful, and deeply personal experience at a time when I needed it most.

That only shows you didn't put much thought into this narrative you have. God didn't do any of those things to cause starving children or the abuse of. People did that. It's a crybaby excuse to blame God for the actions of negligent uncaring human beings.
Before I had kids I put a lot of thought into "Can I feed them, or will we all starve causing grief and sadness". No because I chose to work and make it happen for their benefit.  Tongue

Not everyone in the world is nice and caring and responsible though, as you mentioned.  Actually, ALL fall short. The thing Not to do is fall off the last rung of the ladder.
