Sometimes it's unavoidable, but most times it isn't. I recall driving 25 MPH through a nature reserve last year and out of nowhere this deer just throws itself up onto my hood. The deer was fine, and it just ran off without skipping a beat. I remember thinking: "Wow, that was just like the insurance scam I've been seeing in videos lately.".
I thought it was just me. And I don't drive much. 5 miles to work, then back most days, but there is always a racoon or deer or something dead in the road or on the side. I feel bad for them, since they are just trying to get wherever they are going.
The racoons that are trying to get my chickens and ducks? Well, They don't get any sympathy.
