Where I work we unreasonably end up with critters in the building. This weeks contestant was pointed out to me by yet another screaming man who was running around with a bucket insisting "I need you!!!"
While I was trying to figure out what a dog turd was doing on the floor? Panicked guy was pointing an squealing FROG!!!! Last time I got yanking outside to snatch up 3 hatchling snapping turtles.
It was very thoughtful of you to render some aid to a poor little froggy in need of some assistance.
On occasion when I'm out driving in rural areas on rainy days, I see tons of these little frogs hopping their way across the road at a snails' pace, and then it becomes time for another round of: "Little Froggy Obstacle Course!! I'm guessing most wouldn't pay them much mind if even noticing them at all, but I do make a valiant effort to minimize the casualties as much as possible. I don't even know if they're frogs. They could be toads, but they're too small to tell – just little hoppy things.
And one time on this mostly deserted back-country road I happened upon this HUGE snapping turtle right in the middle. It had to be like a hundred degrees that day. I figured I would just get out and see if I could lend them a hand(or at least a finger as it turned out). I noticed a small watery area almost in the direction they were heading, but not quite, so figured I would just put them where the water is (yeah right, easier said than done!!). This thing was like the size of a large watermelon and built like a tank, and every time I attempted to move it, it would turn around a bit like it was going to make me wish I'd stayed in the car and went about my way. It was very difficult to even move it at all without it muscling out and turning towards me, so I just decided to call it quits while I still had all my fingers. I made an effort, but it just seemed too risky, and my heartrate was definitely fluctuating at times.
